Setting aside the fact that Flashpoint seems to render Brightest Day irrelevant, here's the first wave of DCD's Brightest Day figures. They're actually quite good! Check out the review here: http://www.actionfigureblues.com/2011/06/dc-direct-ushers-in-brightest-day-at.htmlAnd here's a teaser....

Hawkgirl is a massive win, but the others?......notsomuch. Arthur looks....odd? Those eyebrows really are weird.

I much prefer blonde eyebrows. As I said in the post, I'm pretty sure Arthur is a natural blonde, after all... I really like the Boston Brand Deadman, he's a win for me.

I really like the Boston Brand Deadman, he's a win for me. Yeah, it's much more Adams-ish than the DCUC version.

I'm up to Wave 2 of Brightest Day, from which I bought Mera and Firestorm. I have one issue with each (the biggest being with Firestorm), but there's no denying these are each excellent figures. Check it out here: http://www.actionfigureblues.com/2011/11/mera-and-firestorm-dawn-with-dc-direct.htmlEnjoy! Andy

Mera does indeed look good! How does she measure up (scalewise) to the DCUC Aquaman though?
Nice write-up Andy!

Mera is a beautiful Figure no doubt about it.Her coloured Casting rather than painted looks better than some of the others but still i'm not a big fan of it.Glad to have her in my collection though. J'onn was a great Figure too from this wave that i was glad to add to my MM collection.
