I was just posting about these. That's "Flashpoint Plastic Man", of course.  Tongue

Yeah, I'm usually pretty positive when it comes to character selections, but I'm not feeling this wave. I'll probable pick up Superboy Prime and call it good. Surely Matty can't fault people for cherry picking when they make decisions like this lineup?

To me this is the first good news if heard about dcu since the sub bullshit started...I got excited about superboy prime cause I been wanting him for my sinestro corps every since they made more members other than sinestro ...

But aside from superboy prime the wave is well...pointless.
And no cnc figure to make me buy them all...

I just don't fucking get it? Seriously, are they laughing at us?

We lose DCUC to an "all Star" line that is meant to be more retail friendly. You have to be fucking joking.

Weirdo Plastic Man - from a "who gives a crap" storyline in a universe that doesn't exist anymore. This is meant to be recognisable and retailer friendly to Mothers of young children?
Superboy Prime - A fucking psychopath? Again, from storylines no casual shopper will have any association and familiarity with.
Larfleeze - I don't get it. I...just...don't...get it. This is a better retail choice than The Huntress or Golden Age Hourman?
Batman Beyond - Oh just fuck off. A re-release based on a cartoon that's no longer showing.

Flashpoint Plastic Man says to me very strongly that this is coming directly from DC, not Mattel. There is no way that Mattel would pick Flashpoint Plas on their own. I don't like delving into conspiracy theories, but I doubt it's coincidence that we have three Geoff Johns-created characters in this wave.

This is why I was prepared to give the sub a chance. I suspected that the new "direction" was a directive from DC and Mattel knew we'd freak if that was all we got from now on. I'd say that we're getting Atrocitus in the Sub because DC thought he was too scary for retail, and Poison Ivy because we're not going to be seeing many females at retail, etc.

I think if we just consider All Stars as "not for us" and then pick up any occasional figure that does appeal, that's the best we can expect from it.

Well if they're expecting better sales at Retail with that lot then they best put on their best disappointed suit and get comfortable.

I think these are the "All-Stars" that are coming out next year that get packed in with the regular "waves" at retail.

The next "wave" hasn't been officially announced yet.

That sounds logical Mike, good to have your voice of reason.I think it's just been turbulent times for DCUC lately and a lot of Fans are feeling rather ripped off and are reacting thusly.

As always time will tell.

Yeah, I'm guessing they are going to have different mixes instead of "waves" - Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, etc., and those are the All-Star figures for each (Superman - Superboy Prime, Batman - Batman Beyond, GL - Larfleeze, and then, um, well wherever Plastic Man might belong).

Mattel definitely has failed in giving us information and clearing up a lot of questions about what next year is going to look like.  I guess maybe they don't know for certain themselves....

I really hope this works for them as I'd be disappointed to see this DC stuff disappear.
