Oy vey.  And he's such a shitty figure too!!! Roll Eyes
2  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Cast-A-Way The Phantom and Skull Throne reviews on: May 13, 2009, 02:30:23 pm
Michael, that's interesting that you used to be with Flatt World Toys.  I remember the hype about that Phantom figure mentioned.  I seem to recall a full page aticle about him TOyfare and how he was to come with Devil.  Think I even saw pics at some point.  Wasn't there a Bela Dracula figure released too?

I haven't picked up a Mego or Mego-like figure in a good bit but it's something I'd like to come back to eventually.  I've got almost all the WGSH DC ones and need to get the marvels too, the Phantom here would go great amongst either!  And I hear you on that desire for a 1/6 Pulp line!  The Phantom, the Shadow, Zorro, and even Dick Tracy are pretty high on my 1/6 wants list.
3  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / WTF Hasbro.... on: May 11, 2009, 06:47:54 pm
Just saw this on CTR

http://www.cooltoyreview.com/photo.asp?image=http://www.cooltoyreview.com/2009/XOWwolverine10inch1.jpg&text=

Ten inch tall Wolverine figure with almost NO articulation and more than likely run close to $20...  They missed a huge boat here I think because this could've easily been an I cons style figure and I would've bought in a heartbeat.  Instead it's more like a plastic statue.  Stupid move...
4  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Marvel Universe Hulk, Captain America and the Thing review on: May 10, 2009, 09:44:37 pm
I'd have to agree on Hulk's head.  Not sure what the hell happened there, but I'm hoping there's a new one in the Secret Wars two packs.  Alot of the sculpts have been great so far, but Hulk's head is a miss and a half!

The prices bug me too by about a buck fifty or two.  They come with very litte and most of it's useless paper.   Undecided  Both GI Joes and Star Wars are the same scale and right around this pricepoint and generally come with more stuff.  Given Joe is an in-house property, but are the Marvel liscensing fees really that much?   Huh?
5  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Tell us about 'The Pegs' in your part of the world on: May 10, 2009, 09:38:25 pm
Yep!  I need to take pics of them, they are pretty cool just overpriced.
6  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: ML Nemesis Nova and Tigra on: May 09, 2009, 01:31:11 am
I'm hoping hoping Marvel Select picks up the 6-7 inch slack.  Although they won't ooze in articulation they'll at least have good sculpts and generally good paint apps.

I would get Tygra if there was a decent Scarlett Witch to go with my small Avengers line up.  At present the only I want here are Beast and the Red Daredevil.  Hoping the classic Iron Man/Sheild Agent comes quick too.  I found my MLs while cleaning through so stuff I had boxed up and it'd be nice to have a couple more...
8  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Tell us about 'The Pegs' in your part of the world on: May 07, 2009, 01:36:26 pm
Saw the rest of the series today.  Hand Ninja looks cool but I'm thinking it's re-using parts from Ronin, I seem to remember them looking different are these what they look like in modern comics?  The Thing is actually pretty cool looking but needs a better wash on his body to bring out the details in the rock plates.  Picked up Symbiote Spidey this time, I really like the blue highlights.  Looks great with Iron Man and brown Wolverine, had all three of the Secret Wars versions as a kid so it's kinda neat.

That's a lot of Simposons figures, holy cow.  Anyway, the Base is now following MC.
10  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Tell us about 'The Pegs' in your part of the world on: May 05, 2009, 01:01:42 pm
Saw the third series of MU today.  Both Miss Marvels, black Spidey, and Iron Man were the one's that really stood out.  Also looks like a couple of the wave 2 figures ship with these as well because Ultimate Cap and Hulk were there too.  WTF happened to Hulk's head, that thing is fugly beyond repair.  Hope we get a decent one in the Secret Wars comic packs.  Anyway, the only one's I didn't see were the Hand ninja and Thing.

EDIT:  This is apparantly the case pack:

11  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: TMNT SDCC Exclusive on: May 04, 2009, 12:06:19 pm
If I can get her I will, I've got the Turtle boxset and they are really cool looking April would go great along side them.  It's been almost a year since they announced April, Shredder, and two FOOT soldiers.  What's holding them up?...  Undecided
12  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Tell us about 'The Pegs' in your part of the world on: May 03, 2009, 06:29:17 pm
What about 2 packs or the vehicles w/ figures?  There's a really cool Blue Beetle with a Beetle ship type vehicle.  Has a clear blue dome and interchangeable legs, pretty neat looking.  Really makes me wish it were Ted, but that's just me.
13  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / ML Nemesis Wave will be a Wal-Mart exclusive.... on: May 02, 2009, 10:45:33 am
Quote
Cool Toy Review: Will we see the Marvel Legends Nemesis wave distributed in the US? So far all I've seen is Canadian distribution.

Hasbro: These will be coming to the states and they will in fact be a Wal-Mart exclusive when they are released. Essentially, it comes down to WM determining the right time for them to merchandise this wave.

This could be good or bad.  Although I'm sure lots of folks will just be happy to have a better shot at them.  Thoughts?
14  The Collector's Life / Geek Room Gallery / Re: The Articulated One's Displays on: May 02, 2009, 10:27:14 am
I found some at Howard's storage world which I used to set up my JLU display. They have told me they are a regularly stocked item, however I haven't been able to find them since. Urgh. I need more!!!

I've seen something similar at Target in the kitchen supplies section.  The were white with a grey non-slip pad on each tier.  I have my Star Wars figures on something similar but it's just made of wood I found in the garage.

Nice DCUC spread, AO!!!
15  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Marvel Universe 3 packs on: May 02, 2009, 10:24:08 am
http://cooltoyreview.com/story/front/Hasbro_Marvel_Universe_3Packs_Revealed_122723.asp

Pretty neat looking.  Can't say I'm a big fan of Spidey and friends as a series but the figures look cool, especially Iceman. Wink  I'm really liking that Stealth Iron Man though.  I never got into all the Iron Man variants in ML but here I could see myself created a smal arsenal room.
