Well, like I once heard a comedian say: Most things are either too popular to be good, or too good to be popular.

 Cheesy

I really wonder what minuscule part of the population they’d be getting to buy? Action figure collectors are already a tiny minority in toy sales so how many of us remember, or care, about The Shadow?

Ya know....all the movies and TV shows are just an enjoyable distraction.  Nothing will ever compare to great artwork, brightly colored comics, crazy mellodrama, cheesy costumes, and the continuing story.

There's nothing wrong with stepping back from all the live action media.

4  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Star Wars Black 6" on: January 21, 2018, 08:10:53 pm
Yeah, I think Hasbro are pretty clever in knowing what people want. They've snuck the original Stormtrooper back into a wave so I imagine they'll get to guys like the Bounty Hunters again even if it's a 4-pack of the most popular, etc.

I always hope for an Indy line featuring characters like Zorro, Doc Savage, Tarzan, Grimjack, John Carter, etc....

This one makes me a sad panda. I think you, me and Gard have been banging on about this even in the early days of the 'Mess.

I really, really want Mezco 1:12 to step up in this space. No one else seems interested, but I think it could work for dudes like The Shadow and Doc Savage. Their Popeye looks amazing.
6  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Four Horsemen Mythic Legions on: January 21, 2018, 08:06:11 pm
The preorder sale is live on source horsemen. They are offering 12 different figures from the earlier waves and 2 new figure. The prices are mostly $22 or $35. This is a good time to get older figures. The prices on eBay are way too high. I recommend checking it out. I am a big fan of this line and I have been having some fun lately posting pics of them on IG. I can post the link for the four horsemen store site if anyone wants it.

I caved on a couple. Templar Knight, Jorund, Attlus and Vorgus. I really had to fight the urge to army build those skeletons, but the exchange rate and the Horsemen's international shipping rates brought me back to reality.

Damn, that statue is awesome . Congrats! One day, when I grow up, I hope my toy room looks as nice as yours.

Hah! Thanks man. Like Scotty, It's been cathartic going through my collection and moving on stuff I've decided I don't need anymore. There's only so much one can collect and so many lines are getting quite deep and diverse (I'm looking at you high end 12" Star Wars) so it's time to focus on the few that I enjoy the most and reinvest the funds there.

There's a few other 1/4 statues I've got my eye on, but I need to get a few more ebay sales up and running first.

Interesting direction to go. Thanks Gard  Thumbs Up

I want Sideshow to stop doing Superbatwondy and blow me away with some 1/4 goodness like Black Panther, Moon Knight, Juggernaut, Mr Sinister, Captain Marvel (kree).....or the rest of the X-Men (Angel, Iceman, Beast, Nightcrawler).

Yes, I know they don't do Toy Fair.

I'm starting to lose faith in Marvel Legends with their choices of BAF like Sasquatch and Man-Thing. Both nice figures.....that no one asked for.

Star Wars Black is where I'm getting the biggest kick at the moment. The SDCC Thrawn set is gorgeous, the Snoke on Throne was great and now where getting EU characters like Jaina Solo. With the Dewback on the horizon, my dream announcement is a Bantha or a Snowspeeder.

I'd like to see someone step-up with a series of 6" scale "Accessories". If Hasbro isn't gonna do stuff then I want someone to do a black van kitted out with guns that is conspicuously similar to the Punisher's Battle van, etc. We're seeing a step in the right direction with the Widow and Ghost Rider bike sets.

Mrs 'shake and I have fallen way behind on Flash and Arrow. We were kinda keeping up with Supergirl. I never saw beyond the first 3 or 4 eps of Legends of Tomorrow. Gotham was another we could be bothered with.

Runaways is the only comic must for us. It's been great. Though now it's finished we'll try and catch-up with Gifted.

6" scale SWB Snowspeeder or Bantha.

More of the Mos Eisley cantina creatures.

Rumor floating at the Fwoosh is that Red Hood and Lobo will show up at Toy Fair.  Take with a pound of salt.

Yay  Undecided

Could we finally see a Nomad (Steve Rogers) action figure? Probably not, but that's one of those 70s designs that I'd like to have preserved in a figure.

It makes sense. If they wanna keep cranking out IronSpiderCapverine then these are the sort of obvious variants to make.
What would help everyone, is if the movie companies actually agreed to call the look "Nomad", even on paper, doesn't have to be in the film and this then gives merchandisers breathing space to make figures of Nomad with the support of retailers who must be concerned the next wave they agree to could potentially have a Kamandi or Hellcat pegwarmer in it.

You're not much older than some of us grandpa.

It's a weird film to target audiences. Do you go for the fans who are no win their forties (serious) and eliminate the chance of getting kids into the theatre?
Or do you do a kids (all ages) film and hope that the whiz bang looking trailer gets kids interested? (and then merch the crap out of it too)

marvellegends.net is under new ownership which is cool as it was my go to for Legends.
