Forums like this one have their charm, but nowadays people seems to prefer the almost instant gratification derived from social media.

It had been rather quiet on Neurosisville for a while, until today.

One thing that really harshes my mellow is when the legs of a figure are different lenghts, and they are not supposed to be that way.

I was perusing that thread and the consensus there seemed to be Funko making a play further into big box boys toys.  I say give 'em a chance.  I heard they had breakage problems with their Firefly toys, but the Rocketeer I got a few years ago was solid enough.

Funko's 6-inch figures were not too bad, but they were very inconsistent even in the same collection. For every Liliana Vess hit they had a couple misfires like Jace Beleren or that Goldmane guy.

I wonder if Jakks Pacific would do a better job with the DC line think.gif.

Well, I caved in and got the four Aquaman figures in almost one go. I am still thinking about completing the Clayface, but that Supes is not doing it for me.

Today, I had an "incident".

So here I was, trying to pick at the glue on the collar of my black Series Death Squad Commander using a small blade, when I realized I was actually peeling off a poorly-cured layer of plastic, and leaving a rather unsightly gash.

I think it can be fixed, but really, this is not the sort of excitement I look for when it comes to collecting. banghead.gif

7  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Star Wars Black 6" on: August 07, 2018, 08:23:04 am
I found the Guard over the weekend.  I haven't had the chance to open him yet, but at $30, a 50% mark up, Hasbro is clearly testing what we're willing to pay.  I get that he has better paint ops and is a unique sculpt, but a unique sculpt isn't really cause for a mark-up.

I was somewhat taken aback when I realized the Gamorrean was priced similar to the non-convention Jabba, or the Hoth beasties. I was expecting it to cost the same as any other 6" character, but i guess this scale goes by with a completely different set of rules.

This week I faced off against an old adversary: stress marks on plastic.

I just hate when I place an accessory on the hand of a figure and discoloration appears at the point of maximum stress. sorta like what happened to a few ARAH G.I. Joes or in my specific case, most Mega Construx minifigs that are not from the Halo or Call of Duty licenses.

And this type of marks also appear on the torso larger figures when they are pressed a little too much when fusing together the torso halves at the factory.

Nothing is ever a surprise anymore, but those new Black Series figures look sweet.  applause.gif

I remember that. If pinning or superglue don't work, MgGyvering a replacemente part might be the way to go. think.gif

On this weekly installment of Things That Slowly Drive Me Insane, it's turn for broken pieces right out of a newly purchased Mega Construx set.

Normally, Mega is great with their customer service regarding missing or broken parts, but for several weeks now their website has been quite infuriating to navigate and once I got to the right section, it turns out the part number is either incorrect or simply not eligible for replacement, so I will need to see about fixing the piece myself.

Apparently, Ep.323 is missing...

According to Saint Chrome, the direct download links are empty.

 Huh?

Nothing wrong with G.i. Joe being perceived as "too American" I think. I live outside the USA and never once tought of them being too foreign, as most of the  toy designs oscillated between military realism and openly fantastic toy designs. At most, there were some obvious flag decals on some vehicles, but that never bothered me at all.

I do think that if there was G.I. product on shelves, it would sell well, based on the success of product lines like Marauder Gun Runners and Vitruvian Hacks; however, I also think that Hasbro should commission a good media tie-in to drive the point home, be it a movie or animated series.

My point is that Transformers compromise a relatively small part of the action figure community.  And I want to know why?

Well, I can only speak for myself and while I do concede that Transformers is one of the more innovative toy lines ever created, I don't consider them action figures, as I perceive them to be stuck somewhere in between that and model cars. And even though I do have a few Transformers toys in my shelves, I don't think I ever was part of their target demographic.
