1  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Marvel Legends - Discussion thread on: June 21, 2019, 08:04:08 pm
Local GameStop has a full set. I grabbed Loki and canceled my Pulse order

He’s nothing crazy, but I’m glad to have him and put him up front on the villains shelf.

The first wave of retros was all over, but the 2nd wave I only ever saw at GameStop and online. No telling what this Xmen wave will be like.
3  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: SDCC 2019: Six weeks out. Any thoughts? on: June 09, 2019, 09:07:24 pm
I don’t think there’s necessarily been any rumors of Disney buying Mattel, but it’s more a matter of everyone guessing it’s on the table given a number of factors:

-Hasbro cranking out a TON of stuff this year
-Hasbro buying Power Rangers
-No announcement of a renewal for the Marvel or Star Wars licenses
-Disney shifting towards wanting to do more of everything in-house (like Disney+)
-Mattel being publicly open to offers for purchase

That’s my biggest fear/hope for SDCC. Confirmation of Hasbro continuing ML and SWBS. Both lines are cranking out some amazing stuff. I’d hate to see it end.

The only thing that could ease a death of ML would be Hasbro using the void to do a 6” GI Joe line

Last two Retro X-men figures revealed. 90’s Storm in white and a good vanilla Iceman with no spikes or stupid bare feet

I ordered Storm, Iceman, and Samurai off of Hasbro Pulse

Itís a ďfan channelĒ exclusive. Meaning itís basically everywhere except Target and Walmart. All online stores, GameStop, and possibly Best Buy.

I got a pre order in over at Hasbro Pulse. There was loose Hulks available on Dorkside, but it was still $50 after shipping. For $10 more I get Wolverine (who Iíll probably sell) and Iíll get them earlier.

Got my case of Caliban yesterday. Last time I bought a whole set like this was Juggernaut.

Beast- amazing. Articulation is all functional and fantastic. I respect the pupiless look, but I definitely would've preferred pupils.

Gambit- surprised as how much I like him. I'm not crazy over Gambit like some folks, but this is a huge upgrade over the old ToyBiz figure. He's almost entirely new sculpt. Jacket is super pliable.

Jubilee- how did it take 18 years to finally get a 90's Jubilee? In any event, it was worth the wait. She's perfect.

Forge- definite upgrade from the old Hasbro figure. He's fine, the harness restricts him a bit. I think after swapping on some more leg bands and a new bandolier, he'll be great.

Skullbuster- I don't know much about him, but he's cool. I've seen some folks already making some really great Reese fix ups with that extra head.

Blink- I know she was in high demand, but I barely know anything about her. Her accessories are real cool and her articulation is real smooth.

Weapon X- I'm a sucker for Wolverine. I like this guy quite a bit. His claws a much sturdier than any other recent Wolverine I have and I actually really like his alternate head.

Caliban- a really cool looking, imposing bad guy. I don't know much about him from his Horseman days, but I did have this guy's old 5" TB figure as a kid, so it's a kick to get him all upgraded as an adult.

The rest of Avengers wave 2 is underwhelming.

War Machine (not movie accurate colors)
Rescue
Shuri
Rock Python
Beta Ray Bill
Union Jack (now on Bucky body instead of the original Sunfire)
Loki
BAF MCU Smart Hulk, but not in his quantum suit

Ordered Loki on Pulse, I’ll get Jack and Python when they’re marked down.

I just started seeing these today at Walgreens. Between the stores I went to I saw everyone except Beast and Jubilee (who are the only two I immediately want)

I’d like them all, but I’m broke right now. Trying to sell some eBay stuff so I can just buy a case online.

Well hell, if they’re going to include a pentagram sticker, they may as well just paint it on and make it a SDCC exclusive or exclusive to somewhere

http://thefwoosh.com/2019/05/hasbro-marvel-legends-80th-anniversary-thor-cap-iron-man-and-2-packs-package-promotional-images/

High Res pics of most of the 80th wave came our yesterday.

Easy to say the best Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor figures ever

You guys are way too optimistic about this line.

Iím still content with my DCUC collection. There will never be another line close to it. If we can get a few one off pieces that stylistically mix, like a Granny Goodness, Iíll grab them. But this is just going to be more of the same that we saw from Mattel, just executed differently.
12  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Toy Fair '19 Wants on: February 20, 2019, 02:52:44 pm
I'm super-excited about the ML showings.  I don't see how this massive effort can be shown as phoning it in.

Iím with you. I donít recall ever being this excited for any line after an event as I am with ML right now. The Magneto family set, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Silver Samurai, Hydro Man, and a handful of others all look great and I really canít wait to get all of them.

Finished the Kingpin BAF today. I like him a lot more than fat, pink Telly Savalas

14  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: DC Mattel Discussion thread on: February 18, 2019, 02:28:51 pm
I really like the Poison Ivy they showed.

Iím equally really disappointed that weíre getting this Tim Drake while we still never got a proper classic version of him.
15  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Marvel Legends - Discussion thread on: February 17, 2019, 10:07:42 am
Iron Man’s colors look better in that boxed pic. Plus the classic head.

My excitement for Thor has been put on hold. Some folks are saying in person he looks way too tall. The Return of ML Thor they did some years ago was huge and I was hoping with Odinson being Hyperion sized they wouldn’t stray too far when they did a classic version. Hoping it all works out because he looks great otherwise.
