1  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: The DC/McFarlane thread. on: April 01, 2019, 08:46:42 pm
You guys are way too optimistic about this line.

Iím still content with my DCUC collection. There will never be another line close to it. If we can get a few one off pieces that stylistically mix, like a Granny Goodness, Iíll grab them. But this is just going to be more of the same that we saw from Mattel, just executed differently.

I'm super-excited about the ML showings.  I don't see how this massive effort can be shown as phoning it in.

Iím with you. I donít recall ever being this excited for any line after an event as I am with ML right now. The Magneto family set, Thor, Iron Man, Hulk, Silver Samurai, Hydro Man, and a handful of others all look great and I really canít wait to get all of them.

Finished the Kingpin BAF today. I like him a lot more than fat, pink Telly Savalas

I really like the Poison Ivy they showed.

Iím equally really disappointed that weíre getting this Tim Drake while we still never got a proper classic version of him.

Iron Man’s colors look better in that boxed pic. Plus the classic head.

My excitement for Thor has been put on hold. Some folks are saying in person he looks way too tall. The Return of ML Thor they did some years ago was huge and I was hoping with Odinson being Hyperion sized they wouldn’t stray too far when they did a classic version. Hoping it all works out because he looks great otherwise.

Tons of really great stuff shown today. A handful of figures from my top 10. Hydro man, Silver Samurai, Thor, Doppelgänger (even if he is easily the most underwhelming figure of the day)

Magneto, Quicksilver, and Scarlet Witch. Looks fantastic. Hasbro is absolutely killing it.
9  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: The WWE thread on: February 09, 2019, 07:49:28 am
Been hitting up my local WMs as often as I can looking for him with no luck. He’s the first wrestling figure I’ve actively hunted for in a long time.

I still need to get Jeff Hardy and Jinder Mahal, but my WWE Champion collection is getting more and more complete. Only a handful left to make now.
10  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: DC Mattel Discussion thread on: February 06, 2019, 06:19:53 am
According to someone in the know on Fwoosh, a “surprising” company other than Mattel or Spin Masters will be handling 6” collector figures. Let the speculation begin.

The only way I’d even consider buying a new style is if by some miracle Hasbro got the license and got to make ML and DC figures at the same time in the same scale.

So I looked on eBay to see how much the 4 BAF pieces I would need for the Kree Sentry are.  It's almost cheaper to buy the four figs I don't want!

This wave will be clogging pegs before you know it.
12  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Marvel Legends - Discussion thread on: January 25, 2019, 03:58:07 pm
A classic Ronan was rumored for the wave months ago. Very disappointed he didn’t show up. Fortunately with those Colossus parts he’s pretty easy, so hopefully they get to him.
13  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Marvel Legends - Discussion thread on: January 19, 2019, 09:33:21 am
Hopefully these won't be extra-priced liked the MCU ones were, but I doubt it.

They are. The Fwoosh article lists MSRPs for the items.

I’ll drop $60 on Hulk/Wolverine. I might wait on a clearance for Juggernaut/Colossus
14  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Marvel Legends - Discussion thread on: January 19, 2019, 06:23:00 am
Some Fwoosh insiders who broke the news of the MCU 10th wave last year broke a line up for a Marvel 80th anniversary wave that they seem to believe is true (this guy has a very good track record)

Hulk/FA Wolverine 2-pack
Thor (Alex Ross)
Iron Man (Alex Ross)
Juggernaut/Colossus 2-pack
MCU Luis/Ghost 2-pack
MCU Grandmaster/Korg 2-pack

http://thefwoosh.com/2019/01/marvel-legends-celebrates-marvels-80th-anniversary-with-an-extravaganza/

Everyone is hoping/assuming the ďAlex RossĒ figures arenít going to be ultra artist specific and will just be a unique way of getting out classic versions of those characters
15  The Collector's Life / The Pegs / Re: Marvel Legends - Discussion thread on: January 12, 2019, 08:14:27 am
Been seeing the Captain Marvel wave about.  Five movie figures, two comic.  Genis Val does look good.  Grey Gargoyle too.

I was surpassed to see a full case at Target the other day. Didn’t know they were hitting. Had Gargoyle in my hands, but couldn’t justify full price for him. I think this wave’ll hit heavy and Gargoyle will end up sitting around like other obscure comic villains have.
