Just getting underway with R.A.Salvatore's "Legend of Drizzt" series. Didn't realise how many he'd done!

I just finished Patricia Cornwell's "Scarpetta Factor". I've read the whole series but not sure I can keep going with it - it's just going in circles now.

Now starting on Kathy Reichs "206 Bones" - I love the Tempe Brennan series.

No real books right now.  Debating on whether or not to buy the hardcover of Darth Bane:  Dynasty of Evil, or wait till October for the paperback.

Might have to check out Looking for Calvin and Hobbes.  Love that strip, and have a couple of compilation books of it.

It's a really interesting story - why he gave it all away etc. I'm looking forward to reading it.

That sounds cool, I'd like to read that.

I'm currently reading a book from a friend of mine called (roughly translated) "Sundays are for sleeping". It's a great collection of short stories, and she a great narrator. All her stories are very shallow (her characters are often worried about brands or trends and stuff like that) and very deep at the same time. Since is not something I would usually read, and got it at first because she was my friend, I was pleasantly surprised by the way she did it.

It's great when you find a gem like that

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Steig Larsson)

I started reading that the other day. Got about 20 pages in and realised I wasn't interested. Which is a shame, because my mother in law sent me the first two parts of the trilogy.

Not sure really. I think it might just be a genre thing. That, and I hate commitment.

Ben Goldcare is a British blogger, a doctor, who blogs about bad science coverage in the media.   he has a website at http://www.badscience.net/ and the book was about the crapness of alternative therapists - or rather how crap, misleadionh and downright offensive altenrative therapy 'science' is, the godawfulness of that woman Gillian McKeith*, other terrible 'nutrition' gurus (including the dude who states you can cure aids by eating fruit and veg) and how unsuited arts graduates are to writing about science.  He also breaks down scientific methodology so that the lay person can understand it.  he's really very good.

*in case you don't know her, decide to google her and come across her website, she used to call herself Dr Gillian McKeith until a reader of the Bad Science blog took her to the advertising standards agency and said Dr was misleading and she had to remove it.  she got her debgree from an online 'university'.  Mr Goldacre bought the same degree, fromt he same place, online, for his dead cat.  I really really really really hate her.  she also has a tendancy to sue people who tell the truth about her.  I hate her.
She also thinks humans can photosyntheisie chlorophyl, and this is why we should eat lots of greens.  I shit you not.
