I'm going all old school tonight, with two reviews of comic characters that have been around a long time. First up, I'm looking at the new Flash Gordon figure from Cast-A-Way Toys, which comes in a regular and exclusive version.

I also have a guest review from Ryan Kelly, who is looking at the DC Direct deluxe Alan Scott version of Green Lantern. You can find all the reviews at the usual:

I remember my father explaining why it was a big deal when we were watching the episode of the Gil Gerard "Buck Rogers" TV show that Larry guest starred in. Great times!

I like that Flash figure, but part of me would almost prefer to pay a little extra for the Hot Toys treatment. Especially if they did the Shadow.

I liked Ryan's Green Lantern review too. Is the DCD 13" line dead?

Good stuff MC!

I always have a quick cruise of the pics before i read you review and the first thing that struck me was those huge, wonky Boots. They do indeed kinda let down what otherwise is,what i reckon,a great nod to Buster.Cast-A-Way have done him proud i reckon.Although we are spoiled by companies like HT i reckon the feel for such a classic character has been achieved beautifully here.

That Alan Scott turned out pretty decent too, always dug the character and he's been pretty well represented here. And yes FMS,i can't absolutely confirm it but it's been a long time since DCD solicited any new 13" Figures.I think now they've struck a deal with Sideshow they'll leave it up to them.

DCD didn't strike the deal of course, WB did. And yes, Sideshow will be doing a full line of 12" DC figures now.
