So we are supposed to believe that Rick, a trained law enforcement officer, was firing willy nilly at a single target with no thought of conserving ammo?

The show call for larger and larger amounts of suspended belief. But, in general, TV shows make gunfire seem like a nuisance more than a threat.

I read on CBR or Newsarama about the next group that will be a threat?! Really -- another group of bad guys. I know this is based on a comic book, but it's time to get to move beyond it -- or just time for me to move on -- again.

The one thing that intrigued me in the whole season was the very briefly seen helicopter. Maybe DC is in better shape than they thought? I could see them trying to Hollywood politicize the thing by showing walker senators and such.

The only thing remotely interesting is the conspiracy of Maggie, Darryl, and Jesus to assassinate Negan and maybe usurp Rick.

Suspending disbelief.  Hmmmm:

Gasoline that hasn’t gone inert after what I’d guess is 3-4 years into the Zombie epidemic is one thing.  Weapons that don’t seem to need reloading is another.  The worst shots ever?  Sure.  But the comic and this show have abandoned both reason and logic by allowing Negan to survive.  It makes absolutely no sense at all to allow him to live as a prisoner.  Escape would’ve been more logical.  Live to fight another day and all that.

If it were me in this fictional world, I’dve cut Negans throat from ear to ear making sure I get all the big neck veins and arteries and watch him bleed out.  Then I’d take Lucile and finish him making sure he doesn’t get up.  Then I’d set him on fire so no one takes his jacket as some sort of symbol.  I’d think about burning down Sanctuary if not for the workers.  I’d keep the fighters as slave labor under heavy guard.

Under any “real world” circumstances, Negan cannot survive.  He has to be put down like a rabid dog.  Just like a manipulative coward like Gregory would lead one of these communities because he was a capable administrator.  It just doesn’t work.  Now I do understand the need for a certain amount of drama in both the show and the comic.  Negan is an exceptional villain.  Kirkman clearly didn’t want to lose him yet.

For my part - this half season grew on me. There was actual plot and character development. Still too much plodding and circling, but there were episodes where quite a bit actually happened.

I liked the finale. Was nice to finish off a season without a major character being killed off in the most unimaginable way Kirkman can think of.
I'm sorta okay with what Rick did re: Negan. Morgan commented to Rick about his speech in the bar and giving his word, which he then ignored and killed those dudes anyway being a point of no return....but then not killing Negan because of Carl's legacy is his redemption, etc, etc. I still think he should have been offed....but I can see why Rick chose not to.

How about the season return of F.t.W.D? I really enjoyed it. Though Morgan being a dumbass grew old fast. The new characters were cool.

I'm not convinced the Caiman would have been "bogged" at the bottom of that incline either. It has 6 wheel independent drive.

So did I.

Can’t quite give up on the main show yet.  Even with rumors of more spinoffs in the works.  Roll Eyes

They introduced a bunch of new characters and they're all pretty interesting. It's like the series took a complete right turn. Even the colour palette has changed with the show being very washed out, borderline black and white.
