He can join DCUC Capt Boomerang in a big pile of “why couldn’t they make these boomerang themed villains classic?!”

Nighthawk pleases me.  Even though I won’t buy him.  He had to be on the short list for a while new.  I wonder how hard Hyperion is to find now?  I also wonder if there’s a better classic style Valkerie in the works?  Putting together a classic set of Defenders just got easier.  With a few glaring holes like Gargoyle.

Gargoyle is past the period when the Defenders mattered (sold). I'd take everyone associated with the team up to an including Xenogenesis. Anything after is mostly shite. I imagine classic Valkyrie will make a return -- as the first version was mostly pathetic and in a two-pack. And the most recent version was definitely not the classic. Nighthawk -- I did!

I agree KC....I'll eventually snag that BOOMERANG, but I wish it was the more toyetic, long lived Classic version.  However, we all know that this is the one and only Boomer we will ever see, so it's that or nothing.

It's the same reason I bought the DCD First Appearance WARLORD.

I was never a Warlord fan, but that was a beautifully-sculpted figure. I don't remember the name of the guy who did it -- he also sculpted DCD Vixen -- another beauty.  But the modern Boomerangs just don't do a thing for me.

Ray Villafane, IIRC.  He also does the super-awesome pumpkin carvings every year.

Yes, Ray Villafine did that perfect looking WARLORD.  I can only imagine how great of a job he would have done on a Mike Grell version.

Back on topic, Mrs. Magnet and I recently moved, and I've been going through all my plastic tubs of figures.  My point?  WOW!!  A lot of older LEGENDS figures are just FUGLY!!!  UGH!!!  Those terrible, oversized, ball jointed shoulders, ugly ball jointed hips, filthy dirty paint washes, individually articulated fingers that just look awkward, rough, pitted body parts....the list goes on.  Hasbro has done a much better job.  It made me realize how tight and uniform DCUC was.

I know we've said it before, but can you imagine a 4 Horsemen sculpted MARVEL line??

I was about to buy carnage and scream at walgreens, the counter girl said,"I just put these out earlier,we have more in the back, any particular character you're looking for?"I pointed to Typhoid Mary, she went to the back and got her for me."I know how hard these are to get" she said. She was great.

PTB, that same thing happened to me back in the 90s with an ICE MAN figure.  It was a young girl at a KB TOYS.  For some reason, he was a little hard to find at first.

Wow....I'm such a useless old dinosaur!

Been saying this for a long time.  Thumbs Up

Yeah....in the end, all those individualized sculpts just didn't pay off.

There are definitely some great looking ML figures, but certainly not all of them.  Back in the day, I loved 500 POAs, but now?  No thank you.  12 to 16 is more than enough for me.

The thing that sucks is how much more expensive they are, now.  I've mentioned before that I often buy loose from eBay.

There’s definitely a ton of amazing figures in DCUC and MOTUC...

almost all of which are men.

Hasbro’s females are blowing DCUC’s and MOTU’s lady figures out of the water. Face’s are painted on point and there’s no sacrifice on sculpt or articulation. I look at figures like Elektra, Rogue, Sue Storm, and Dark Phoenix, and there’s no comparison. Besides Wonder Woman, I really don’t think there was any DCUC females who I think were “great”. And even WW has her issues. Figures like Ice or Star Sapphire... yikes.

Interesting, BW....I can't even tell you the last female fig that I bought, so I had no idea Hasbro was knocking it out of the park.

There’s really some fantastic female figures getting made by them right now, I think it’s the printing technology they’ve been using on faces that are why they’ve started looking so nice. Like the “apology” head they included with Dark Phoenix that’s meant to go with regular Pheonix. But the newest Elektra looks SOOO nice.
