The boy didn't mind his DCUC Robin figure, but being a fan of both the 1966 TV series, and Teen Titans Go!, he asked if I could paint Robin's gloves and legs green. Then I suggested that maybe I need to also give him sleeves. "I wholeheartedly agree, Dad!", or something to that effect. Anyway, what a project this has turned into!

So far, cape, belt and head removed, some extra sculpting for the gloves and boots (inc. steel caps), and added short sleeves. Also filled in the techno bits on the vest, and toned down the adolescent 'roid-ness by filling in the pecs and abs.

After a first primer, saw things that needed filling that couldn't be seen previously (working with black is hard on the eyes!).

More primer tomorrow.

Still need to make a new belt, trim the cape, and to figure our what to do with the head. The major problem with these DCUC kids' bodies is that the heads are just mini-adult. They're not realistically proportioned to be a kid's head. They should be proportionately larger than an adult's in terms of a head:body ratio.

He's looking great Dozy, love that you're covering the minor details like the Steel Caps and toning down the Abs.I have this fig too,one of only 2 DCUC figs i actually own and was thinking of converting him to Drake's more traditional Red and Green.Really keen to see how this turns out!I do agree on the Head, the original with that would be ok or maybe a DCSH Robin head might do the trick.Got one here if you want to try it.

OK, here it is so far:

I think the head will look a bit less goofy once I've put a coat of primer on it, as I've added a bit of brow. The belt (DCUC Robin's) isn't yet attached.

I'm rethinking the scales, as I realised I'm going to have a hell of a time with the shoulders if I add epoxy to them. I might go the other route after all.

Sorry Mate i can't rearrange them, had a look but there's no options to do that.

He's looking good,i understand what you're saying about the goofy looking head.Sometime you put pieces together and their varying colours throw the whole thing off.It will be fine though i can see that.
Belt Buckle detail looks good and the brow looks nice and even.
So are you going to sculpt mail instead?

Nah, I think somehow I'm going to etch it in, with a bit of heat assist. The mail on DCD New Gods Barda looks achievable.

Great ideas, and it's going to look excellent if the start is any indication.
