Hi guys. I haven't posted for awhile. Life happens sometimes. Lol. I wanted to get some thoughts from any Joe collectors out there. Do you prefer the Retro style (like Walmart exclusives or 25th and 50th line) or the o-ring style 3-3/4" figures. The Haslab Skystriker has me considering collecting Joe's again even though it's been 25 or more years since I opened a new GI Joe. Thanks!

I think I prefer the modern construction  figures, and even though I concede there are some O-Ring figures that came out extremely well in the vintage era, I´d rather not have a crucial component in my figures that will deteriorate naturally over time.

I agree with that sentiment too. The speakers on Pulsecon said that they have big plans for o-ring figures. That worries me....what I mean is I hope they don't discontinue the retro line.  I haven't purchased anything yet.  I'm hoping that the retro figures fit into the Haslab Skystriker and other vehicles they may release

The Retro figures are a little bit taller than the O-ring - which is why the re-released Skystriker a decade or so back was a one-seater.  I don't mind the O-ring construction so much once I figured out how to replace them.  The bands are actually super-easy to replace.  It's tracking down a broken hip hook thingy that was tougher.  Personally, I don't need anything o-ring or 4" unless it's something that didn't exist before.  I was lucky enough to hold onto my original collection and been able to fill in gaps for the most part.  The vehicles/bases I missed out on will likely never be released outside of an overpriced Haslab (Terror Drome, Defiant).  I'm all in on the 6" so far which has been an exercise in frustration until a few months ago.

All that being said, I fully support them releasing things I already own to give other folks a crack at them.  If He-Man can have 3 different lines on shelves at the same time G.I. Joe could do so as well.
