After not messing with him for a while, I threw some paint on my Hannu wannabe. Not happy with the green that I have, so I'll have to get out to Hobby Lobby or Big Boy Toys to look for something a bit better. I like the dark grey/flat black mix, and will end up doing a drybrush of just the dark grey (maybe with a drop of whit mixed in) before I'm done. Lots of paint rub at the bicep swivel, not so bad at most of the other joints. If I get off my butt, I can finish him this weekend.

He's coming along really well Raj,get a wash and some drybrushing into that Grey skin and he'll look awesome.

Green is a painful colour to work with, especially when you have Black underneath.Best suggestion i have is paint your Green on in a few layers of thinned down coats.Time consuming but worth it.That way you'll end up with an even coverage and not have a massive lump of paint built up.

Thanks for the update.

So what is the plan from here? How do you visualise him finished?

Mixed up a shade of green I was happy with and got the boots and belt taken care of yesterday.  Got to finish up a couple of details (probably gonna use a green sharpie for the GL symbol) and will be pretty done.  Still have a lot paint rub at the bicep swivels and some at the shoulders.  Still have to do a wash for the cracks in the body and then do a drybrush of a lighter gray to get the proper "skin" color I want.  Probably won't get done today, though.  Worn out after grilling for Mother's Day.  Gonna shower and nap now.

Rassum, frassum . . . Damn paint rub.  Went ahead and popped off the arms and am gonna try to dremel the offending areas down a bit to see if that helps.

Oh I hear ya Raj. I don't spray on a hard cote for my wargaming miniatures because I keep telling myself I'll come back and touch them up as my painitng techniques grow. Of coursem use them a few times and the paint starts to rub off!!

There's a guy on the Fwoosh[can't think of his name]that uses bits of Styrene while painting to eliminate Paintrub. He did a Pic Thread about it.It's a very clever concept.
I don't get much paintrub issues as i use DCD figs so articulations hardly a big issue for me.

So if we used McFarlane figures there'd be no paint rub at all?
