Yeah, no matter what anybody thinks, comics are the foundation of all this stuff.  Trends like movies and video games will definitely affect what we see, but it's nice to know that there can be a return to the true source material.

I've got a pretty good feeling that we're going in that direction (at least from Mattel).  It may be Rebirth, but in the end, it's better than movie, TV and game figures.  Mattel has, to this point, stayed out of animated style figures with very few exceptions.  Public Enemies and Young Justice really didn't impress.  And I'm pretty sure all you guys that go back to the 'Mess know my opinion of Super Powers/Friends.   Grin

I really do wish we would get more classics.  But for me, classics is before 1980.  New Teen Titans ended classics IMHO.  That was the beginning of DC becoming a little more "MARVELous".  Then again, 1980-2012 contains a whole lot of my personal favorite stuff.  Not the least of which is where we learned the real potential of the JSA.

Got Reaper today at a toy show for $25. Easier than trying to find him at Walmart or stalking online.

He's AWESOME. Even cooler in hand than I thought he'd be. I've not even read Year Two, but I really, really like this guy.

But Mattel NEEDS to get that ML ankle articulation. This guy would benefit from it SOO much.

I opened the Rookie/Batbot wave today and I must say I am very impressed.  Nice, solid figures with so much new sculpting.  Even Batwing had new pieces.  It's too bad that Mattel has so much distaste for the collector community now that they don't even advertise their great stuff.

Still can't find Duke and Reaper.  Batman is good, Batwing is great.  Atom will probably get sold off.  Looking forward to building Rookie.

I saw the Duke/Reaper wave stocked at a local Wally's.  May be worth heading out again.

You still in Colorado?  This side of the country is barren of Multiverse.

Of course I can find all the Super Friends Batman and Green Lanterns I want.  And a metric shit ton of JL Wally exclusive Batmen and Cyborgs with the Mother Box.  But no Rookie wave.

Yep, still in CO.  To be fair it was only one Wallys, but I've found with Transformers generally when a wave hits Wally is pretty consistent spreading it out.  Target and TRU are much more hit and miss, at least for me.

Me too.  But the Wally's around here haven't gotten the regular JL movie waves, but have gotten the exclusives.  Target and TrU have had the movie figures for two months.

Good for you, GARD.  I know you've been a DUKE fan from Day 1.  I'm hoping they eventually make a figure of him as The SIGNAL.  He's BAT related, so I'd say there's a 1000% chance.

Fuck it.  After reading the coverage of the Dark Knights/Metal panel, I now officially want Metal figures and from all the spinoff series too.  This is some seriously sick shit (in a good way) that they're talking about.  Figures would be awesome.  A Terrifics box set...FUCK YEAH!  A Damage C&C...FUCK YEAH!.

*I know I'm talking out my ass, but this would be soooo much fun.   Grin
