Looking for toys, not sex.

Well, technically both.

If you find a shop that offers both then please share the details (of the store, not the experience)

They have those all over the place here. Not the kind of toys we collect, but I still have fun with them.

So lately I've seen two Jawas and a Death Squad commander at two different stores.  Another store had one of each.  Are retailers getting different pack-outs or are people in Denver buying the repeat figs and leaving new ones on shelves?  Seems odd.

Poor old Death Squad Commander is the Machine Man of Star Wars peg-hangers

Machine Man is a great figure of a great character. The problem is 1) nobody knows who he is, and 2) it's a rather boring design.

Like, as a fan, I geeked right the fuck out. I wanted him from the start.

But I still cherry pick legends so he was always back burnered.

Until Thursday, that is, when I found one on clearance at Walmart for $3.

Today (during daylights hours) I've been to 3 Targets, 1 TRU, 1 Wal-Mart, and 2 Gamestops.  Also 2 Walgreens, but I was looking for Minimates.

1 Target had a Luke and a few Executioners.  Another had a Rey.  Third had nada.

Wal-Mart had nada.

TRU had Kylo, and all of Wave 2 except the Praetorian Guard.  They were also the only place I saw the Landspeeder.  No Rey Speeder though.  There was a tag for the Ackbar 2-Pack, but didn't see any.

The Gamestops looked like they'd never heard of Star Wars.  Just some clearance merch over a year old.

I'm sooooooooooo glad for MikeS.  Trying to buy things at retail is for sucks.

I feel ya.

Been looking for Duke and Reaper to complete Rookie.  Found Batman, TV Atom, and Batwing two weeks ago on a business trip through a very small town which does have a Wal-Mart.  Said town is about 125 miles away.  I live in a large suburban area with a total population topping out at over a million people.  Adding the rural areas inland and in North Carolina and the entire region tops out at about 2 million.  Williamsburg VA  to Ocracoke NC.  There are over a dozen Wal-Marts I can get to in less than a half an hour.  I've not even found remnants locally.  Not even a stray Atom.  Nothing.  Frustrating doesn't begin to describe it.

Back to Star Wars.  Which I don't even have a small dog in that fight.  I've heard that Force Friday has been a major clusterfuck.  Especially where Pops are concerned.  No less than ten different exclusives.  Sounds like a nightmare.

Yes, it did indeed suck a sour frog's ass.

Looks like Target, Kmart and Big W (Walmart) here have pretty much quit. TRU were the only ones who bothered and seemed to get most everything.
But really, online is the only way to go now.

From what I could tell, Wally's was the only store around here that was on it for Force Friday.  It was picked over, but they still had some product.  My benchmark is Star Wars Black.
