This is one of the most important things to me. I always make a point to read a banned or challenged book.

Last year it was LOEG: The Black Dossier

This year, I am not sure, might re-read Slaughterhouse Five.

I've never read Slaughterhouse Five. Might give it a go.

It saddens me that book-banning still goes on in the United States. Have we truly learned that little from history?

Yeah, but those learnings were written in a book that was banned.

Slaughter House 5 is one of my favorite books. Is it really banned there? On what grounds?

It is not banned universally. A school in Missouri, challenged the book on violence and sexual content.

Considering that they're a state that still bans books, it sounds like you have to drive into the 1850s in order to get there.

It sounds like you need just a single conservative parent to make enough noise to get the burning to take place.

Sadly, it is; and it's no coincidence that it sounds so much like "misery".

Wait, what? They still ban books? In the era of the internet? I can watch a girl get raped by a horse while a mexican drug lord cuts her head off with a weed whacker but there's something in a book that the government thinks might be harmful?
