JLU will always hold a special place for me, it's the first toyline I started buying for my son. We found out my wife was pregnant, and the day we found out were having a boy we had take some board games back to Toys R Us. We used the gift card to buy singles of Green Arrow and Dr. Fate. Since then we have bought up all the JLU we could find for him, including winning an Ebay auction for all the BATS figures. He loves playing with them, and he gets excited when I show him new figures online.

With the recent announcements from Mattel re: what is coming for JLU, I have to wonder if they might be getting a little ahead of themselves. Sure characters like Cyborg and Plastic Man are great, but what about the A Listers and major characters missing from the actual show? Mr. Terrific, Kalibak, Felix Faust, they all had parts, and in some cases multiple parts of the show, yet they aren't getting made yet. My concern is Mattel will get so excited by the shiny new object and  start making tons of non show figures and forget the people who actually made an appearance.

I have to admit i thought JLU was just about tapped out after seeing guys like Bwana Beast,Cadmus characters and even Wonder Pig was being done,i had no idea there were still characters for the actual show left to be immortalised in Plastic.
I agree it's great that other characters are being produced but yeah it would be a concern that they never finish the actual roster from the show that spawned it all.I'm not sure of their marketing plan and at this stage i can only hope that they're trying to draw more animated collectors into the market.I guess at this stage it's another case of time will tell.

I can't quit this line. Every time I think I'm done something like that 6-pack with Vibe etc comes out and I'm back in.

Can anyone point me to a good JLU checklist by the way?

Worst part is I don't have them on display. I've bought some of the JLU stands but need levels to make it work.

Awesome - I don't need pics. Just a list.

Maybe we need a checklist link section as well.

My Lord, where did you get that list??

We could do a voting thing to come up with our top 10 in each category. That could be fun.

I made it one weekend when I was watching all the episodes with a sickly Giovanni. Then I got allot of the villains off World's Finest and Wiki.

I started but never finished a list of characters that appeared on Batman or Superman that didn't get a figure from Mattel, not counting the Batman and Superman cartoon lines that came before Mattel took over:

Manbat
James Gordon
Mr. Freeze
Killer Croc
Mad Hatter
Riddler
Romulus
Count Vertigo
Talia Al Ghul
Ra's Al Ghul
Ubu
Ventriloquist
Maxie Zeus
Bullock
Renee Montoya
Lock Up
Alfred

Superman Animated:

Classic Aquaman
Perry White
Abin Sur
Lana Lang
Lara-El
Jor-El
Bibbo
Maxima
Mercy Graves
Bruno Mannheim
Dan Turpin
Maggie Sawyer
Karkull
Jax Ur
Mala

Well, we could make a separate thread, put the list of characters yet to be made on top, and just have everyone make a list of the top ten figures they want, in the order they want them, place a point value for each place on the list (ex. if someone ranks Hal Jordan at 1 then Hal gets ten points, Spy Smasher at 10 gets 1 point.) Then tally it all up at the end and have our top ten. Then do it again after SDCC.
