Pretty well decided that I'm gonna buy the nU Earth 2 figures depending on finances and what the final figures look like in hand. Some of the other stuff interests me like nU Orion, but we'll have ta' wait and see. I bought Cyborg the other day on a whim and he's great.
The comics still aren't grabbing me, but the figures have earned my interest...
One good WTF figure and I think I'm in.

It's incredibly ironic that DCC is basically doing what we desperately wanted DC Direct to do but with designs we don't love. A consistent universe of characters in a consistent style, issued in a timely manner relative to storylines currently in the comics, and decent ankle articulation to boot!
I am more and more tempted by these as well even though the designs aren't of "my" DC characters.
I have the core 7 JL members and have otherwise kept to characters never done before such as Katana and some of the awesome oversize figures like Solomon Grundy and Swamp Thing. The rest are getting harder and harder to resist. I want that new Bizarro as I love that character, and I will definitely be getting the Batgirl coming out.
I'm no longer reading any DC comics on a regular basis so in a sense I am able to just appreciate the toys on their own merit, and as toys, they are darn good.

The best thing about DCC is I have no want list. I have no idea what all the redsigns look like, nor am I going to look. All I know is what I've seen of the figures. But everything looks pretty good. For some reason, I don't even care that Kendra turned black. Normally, changes THAT big would really bother me.
I'm reading through some of the books to try to...I don't know....care more? I guess. But everythings Johns wrote when the reboot started is pure, out of the toliet, stuck the wall, SHIT! It's as if a child wrote Aquman and the Justice League. I wasn't aiming to read Johns, just figured I'd start with those book. Gonna move to Batman now. Hopefully thats better. Anyone that read Death of the Family think it was any good?

It seems that is how a lot of us are feeling. We'll all start buying these, and then they'll unboot. Or re REboot.

A consistent universe of characters in a consistent style, issued in a timely manner relative to storylines currently in the comics, and decent ankle articulation to boot! Yeah, it's amazing. They have 75+ years of rich history to choose from, yet they highly doubted that era, and put ALL of their faith into the NU stuff. Oh well... no sense in dwelling on it and getting myself pissed off all over again. That said, if any NU stuff comes out that I like, I will definitely buy it. I love toys, and I refuse to punish myself because I'm Old School. From what I understand, BLUE BEETLE will be showing up again, so I look forward to seeing a figure. If he's a decent design, then I'll buy it.

Great points guys. DCD was run by amateurs. Filled with excuses and bullshit. DCUC was run by fanboy fetishists with a never ending hard on of Super Powers/Friends. Now we have DCC and they're all in for the nU. Can't win for losing can we?

iPhone posted accidentally.
I accept the change grudgingly. Change is inevitable. If the comics were better, I'd have less problems.
And I try not to have a wish list, but it's in my nature to want the oddballs anyway. If nU OMAC shows, I'm probably in.

I just don't understand wanting plastic representations of these specific looks when you're not digging the stories. Now if you were really liking the direction dc was going then yeah I get it. Right now to me it seems like people are just wanting to spend money on something due to a lack of what they really want. And to me that means you'll never get what you realy want as long as the cash is being made on this nu shit. I'm not trying to start an argument and I know every collector is different, I just personally can't wrap my head around it.

Dunno TF. Wish I could explain it. I am actually enjoying Earth 2. Moreso since Robinson left. Not sure why that is.
Superman without the red underwear doesn't bug me. Wonder Women trimmed in silver is an actual improvement to my eye. Orion looks great to me. Like Scotty said, I can appreciate these sculpts without liking the stories now. And I can't get over how good Vic turned out.

If that's what it takes, please buy tons and tons and tons of this crap! I just don't understand wanting plastic representations of these specific looks when you're not digging the stories.
I had this conversation with SD Comics the other day. A good looking figure is a good looking figure. Some people collect because they like to collect a certain thing -- if you collect "Action Figures" you might not even care where they come from or what they're based on. Some people collect a certain genre without regard to specifics -- look at those Ame-Comi things. They're great if you're into that, whether because you like the superheroes or just like anime girls. And some people just need to collect. I've seen a lot of that over the years, people who just have to buy something. It's hard for me to point the finger of blame. Yes I do think it's ridiculous to buy something just because it's the only thing out there. But if you do like the product for whatever reason, well ... I myself am not a big Batman or Iron Man fan, but make a figure of them in any color, any costume or armor and I'll buy it. I love that shit. And for years people we know were complaining about every company making Batman figures "in every color except the one we want " ... meanwhile those lines were incredibly successful for the market they were intended for.

Pound of truth JQ. +1.
I like to try and handicap stuff like this. I'm rarely right, but it's fun anyway. Obviously, all things SuperBat (nU) are on the table. Green Lantern less so in light of the tragically dismal film. Which is a good thing from my perspective. And it now appears that virtually any Justice Leauge member from any branch (nU) has a shot. Animal Man, Adam Strange, Frankenstein, etc. Which makes it fun (for me anyhow). I still love the second and third stringers. I also look for more Earth 2 characters. They do have a new Superman after all. And an evil Superman too.

Logic says that if the response to the new product produced by DCC is good, then a "Classic" subline is money in the bank.

You're so silly.
Johns and DiDio are gonna push nU down our throats, up our nostrils, in our ears, and up our asses until they both get fired. Sadly, I'm embracing the inevitable future.

Mrs 'shake and I are catching up on Arrow and there was the ep where Amanda Waller shows up to visit Bronze Tiger in jail. Mrs 'shake always asks if these characters are in the comics and I said yes. Her response was an amused "Another slim attractive woman straight out of the comics?"
