Someone at DC doesn't like Black women to be portrayed as overweight. I have my guess as to who, but I'd rather not say. If I'm right it particularly sucks because it means diversity it being promoted only selectively, and for personal reasons.

The comics still aren't grabbing me, but the figures have earned my interest...

Without an interest in the comics, I can't have an interest in the figures. I do like the new designs for Orion ad Zatanna, but I'm not reading Wonder Woman and dropped JLDark months ago.

I used to collect Spawn figures.  Didn't read the comic though.  Comics and figures aren't mutually exclusive to me.

Agreed. If it looks good then I'm happy to have it on my shelf. I gave a couple of W.o.Warcraft figs but never played the game.

Though I see KC's point. It's hard to get excited about the look of once familiar characters that are no longer familiar to you.

I get that too FM.

However, I made the decision to let go of any hope that "my DCU" is ever coming back.  I take it for what it is.  The designs really aren't that bad (for the most part).  It's the stories that stink on ice.  If the stories were better, the costumes wouldn't be an issue to most of us.

If the stories got better, I might find myself at the LCS again every Wed.

Well, I happen to love fat, black women.  I'm married to one!  It's a shame I'm not in charge at DC.  But then again, if I was, pretty much all women would be thicker and hippier, and even with the NU52 going on, there would still be a SILVER AGE style Earth, a BRONZE AGE Earth, and a GOLDEN AGE Earth just for shits and giggles.

When people notice ... or think they notice ... that you're giving a lot of (possibly needed) attention to one particular race ... maybe it's time to ask yourself if they have a point.

Anybody need a Scribblenauts Aquaman from Series 1?

That's the one in the classic Orange costume. I have a spare. Looking for the Series 2 Blue Beetle, Cyborg, or Flash.

Or from Series 1, Batman, or Superman

Titans figures looked good today.  May pick up a couple over the weekend as my LCS is having a sale in conjunction with Free Comic Book Day.

I hate those nu titan figures so much. Both the costumes and the artist specific look. Its weird how bulky Capullos Nightwing is and how scrawny Booths is.

DC adverts show the Capullo series as "In Stores Now!" but they apparently don't hit until next week. I needed my Nightwing fill.
