For my money,  there is, bar none, no greater action feature than glow in the dark plastic.

It's simple, and has the power to make even the most mundane toy into something magical.

Love it as I do, I'm a bit hard pressed to recall many GITD toys I had growing up.

I know Construx had glow connectors, and I remember getting glow shoestrings from a cereal box. And while I have a fair collection of GITD toys now, most were released much later than when I was a kid.

So, which were your favorites? Hopefully I can rediscover some forgotten faves!

My entire bedroom glows in the dark. Just looking around right now I see:

multi-colored paint set
Safari Ltd Toob dragons
LEGO Ghost
multi-colored beads
Gelth Zombie
my custom Green Lantern Eddore
mini Jack O'Lantern
another bottle of paint
Friendly plastic

As for when I was a kid, some I remember were:

Aurora Prehistoric Scenes Tyrannosaurus Rex model - GITD teeth, eyes and claws
U.F.O. Mystery Ship model
Yo-yos, vampire teeth, super-balls

Hmmm. I think this could make a great podcast topic!

Is that sarcasm? Did you already do a podcast on GITD toys?

Looking around my room I see Bio Glow Swamp Thing, MOTUC Scare Glow, LOTR king of the dead, Toyfinity Robo Force Con Exclusive Maxx Steele (Uses about half the parts of the larger Wrecker kit), Clawshine by Godbeast, the head of my Scribblenauts Deadman, and the Geist Mordles.

For the record, I have never listened to the AFB podcast. I don't generally listen to toy podcasts, as I would rather be out collecting, or enjoying what I have.

Weird, I know, but that's me.

That wasn't sarcasm. It would actually be a great topic!

You should give it a listen - we're hilarious! Wink

You could be out toy collecting and listening to the podcast. They've got new fangled wireless music boxes now.

Most of the stuff I recall from childhood wasn't licensesd stuff. I remember a couple of sets of vamire teeth (I'd sit them on the bulb of a lamp for ten minutes and they'd be superbright). I also had numerous bits that usually came in one of those containers from a coin operated vending machine. There was a skeleton hand with a skull on the palm that would glow.

I had some Glow Friends when I was really young, but there's not too many glow figures in lines I loved.

You'd think Real Ghostbusters would have had more. They did the Ecto Glow series near the end, which are highly prized now, and the ghost that came with the trap was GITD, but there were surprisingly few otherwise.

As for the podcast? IOS8 has eaten up a ton of my storage space, not sure I wanna be cluttering my Ipad 2. I need a new one eventually, prolly gonna do a 32 gb next time.

Wonder why MUSCLE never did glow figures? I know the plastic is a bit pricier, but dammit, it's WORTH it!

Anybody remember the glow sharks from Shark Bites fruit snacks?

I had 8" FRANKENSTEIN, DRACULA, and the WOLFMAN figures, and I loved setting them out every Halloween.  I didn't actually play with them much, but I still loved them.  FRANKY and DRAC had hands and faces that glowed in the dark.  They were pretty cool.

Never had much in the way of GitD toys as a kid.  I used to have a few "Soggies" (the arch- enemies of Cap'n Crunch) that were pretty cool.  I accidentally melted one by leaving it directly on a light bulb that was in a lamp.

I probably have a few now, but the only figure I can think of is the variant DCUC Spectre, and he's pretty cool.
