This is my second stop motion animation using my 3D printed action figures. Ever since I started using acetone to smooth my figures I wanted to make a new one to show the nicer looking figures. I also bought new camera equipment that is less shaky allowing me to keep post processing of the pictures taken to a minimum. I did use Blu Tack on the feet to stabilize the figures and armatures for the flights, jumps and falls but other then that all you see here can actually be performed just with the joints of the figures.
Modeling Software: MODO
3D Printer: Stratasys Mojo
Figures were assembled and painted by hand.

Here is a picture of the actual figures with their joints. The ball joints can just pop in and out of their sockets allowing for different head expressions and hand gestures in the animation.

Here are some more figures from that series I have been working on lately. I hope to use some of them in further animations down the line.

Too cool for words!!  Thumbs Up

OK, just so I understand....these are completely made on a 3D printer?  So you print the stuff out, paint it, and then snap it together?  Frigging amazing.  Where do you get the 'blueprints' or whatever they call it?

As my father and I often say, "We live in the future...."  think.gif

Thank you! There are no real blueprints. I just model everything "from scrath" in my 3D application. Figuring out the joints was just a lot of trial an error...
