Trailer was released today, and I can't get enough of it.

I really tried not to spazz out about it, but I failed miserably.

I know I should be geeking out about a lot of stuff, but I just think Mantis waving at the end was pure awesome!!  Cheesy

People keep saying "Cap is back". Did he go somewhere? Wasn't he talking to Black Panther at the end of Civil War? Has he been chillin' since then while the other Avengers get on with things?

War Machine is back?  Huh?

It's official. I'm old. Just didn't get anything out of it. It looked okay. At first glance, I though Thanos was Terrax the Tamer. Why did they lose  Thano's headgear from his first appearance.

Point!

But yeah, in the comics the only time he ever really went casual was when he retired to become a farmer - so it's a bit jarring.

It's OK, KC.  Personally, I'd be fine if the MCU simply ended after AVENGERS 4.  That would be a great place to let it rest.  But that's not gonna happen.  Disney will be milking MARVEL Super Heroes long after my dead bones have turned to dust.

He also had his civilian-clothing (?) phase back during Annihilation.

He might be responsible for making the cosmic wife beater fashionable.

Because it looks silly you silly. Like, out of a comic book. Hollywood takes the silly and makes it "better".

I had totally blanked that.  Actually, looking up the pictures I don't even remember the outfit.  Getting old's a bitch.

I'm an old school Avengers fan -- from the Bronze Age, but loved the Silver Age stuff as well from when Big John Buscema was artist. I think I miss the small scale aspect -- the soap opera. The world saving/event stuff all seems the same after a while. I don't need to see another Avengers film where there is a huge swarm of villains taking on the heroes. It's been done -- to death!

Maybe that's why I liked Ant-Man so much!

We're kindred spirits, KC.  I've always preferred more small scale stuff, too.  I understand exactly what you mean.

I totally get that movies are big, expensive spectacles, and the stakes need to be huge, but I just don't think we always need another life form that either wants to take over Earth, or destroy it.  I mean, how many Civilians probably think that JUSTICE LEAGUE just basically copied The first AVENGERS??

I'd contend that Avengers or Justice League require a big-league threat for a movie.  By definition they joined together to face the threats they couldn't face alone.  Solo movies should be smaller in scale though to keep the big ones special.  KC's right that Ant-Man was great precisely because a city didn't have to blow up.

CHOOCH, you said it much better than I.  The battle atop the Thomas The Train set was genius.  Especially when the camera pulls back, just as you had forgotten it was merely a toy!
