This week I faced off against an old adversary: stress marks on plastic.

I just hate when I place an accessory on the hand of a figure and discoloration appears at the point of maximum stress. sorta like what happened to a few ARAH G.I. Joes or in my specific case, most Mega Construx minifigs that are not from the Halo or Call of Duty licenses.

And this type of marks also appear on the torso larger figures when they are pressed a little too much when fusing together the torso halves at the factory.

And they always happen at joints you want to be flexible like an opening lid on a box or briefcase. Ugh.

Today, I had an "incident".

So here I was, trying to pick at the glue on the collar of my black Series Death Squad Commander using a small blade, when I realized I was actually peeling off a poorly-cured layer of plastic, and leaving a rather unsightly gash.

I think it can be fixed, but really, this is not the sort of excitement I look for when it comes to collecting. banghead.gif

It had been rather quiet on Neurosisville for a while, until today.

One thing that really harshes my mellow is when the legs of a figure are different lenghts, and they are not supposed to be that way.

My recent fave was a photo someone shared of their ML 3-pack Cyclops with the visor glued on upside down. It looks really odd and you can see it clearly doesn't fit. But when you pay slave labour for factory work, you get what you pay for.
