Kinda dull so far.  But of course the biggest day of any con is Saturday.

Shang Chi is cool and overdue.  Can Killraven and Ikaris be that far behind?   thud.gif

I'd guess Ikaris is on the way -- in conjunction with the Eternals film. Killraven remains a longshot. And still no sign of Thunderbird in an X-Men wave.

Don’t think there’s much doubt that Marvel wins SDCC 2019.  Between the movie announcements, the Disney streaming shows, Hickman’s X-Men total brand reboot, and Marvel Legends, they smoked DC like a Smithfield ham.  This was an ass beating of epic proportions.  DC didn’t even put up a fight.  I understand that things are changing at DC/WB.  But just wow.  The void was prominent.

They've had the time on their side to get this right and they've blown it time and again. Marvel had a plan and it worked beautifully.
DC/WB seem completely inept at getting their shit together and instead give us utter rubbish like Suicide Squad and a Joker movie that may have exceptional performances, but is not linked to anything fans feel strongly about. It's that kind of arrogance that put them in this situation. Comic fans are a ready and willing audience, get it right and they will come.

Marvel goes into the bar and plays pool with their fans, shouting a few rounds of drinks. DC drive past the bar in their limo and scarcely lower the window to look down their noses at the riff-raff.

I’m not sure it’s that simple.  I’ll take DC publishing over Marvel any day.  DC’s had a rough patch.  Mostly due to the whole Bat penis thing.  That hit the in the first week of the new executive taking over.  AT&T taking over has changed the equation too.   DC’s TV roster is impressive.  Sandman and Watchmen done well will bring the prestige.  Movies are pathetic.  Toys/collectables are painful to behold.  Maybe Todd can help that.

But movies are the glory.  And I honestly thought Warner’s would’ve been able to pull it together by now.

DC Execs know movies, but they don't know comics. If you wanna make one about the other, then you need to suck it up and bring in a Kevin Feige and listen to what the fuck they have to say. Problem is, WB Execs pride won't let them do that because comics are so far beneath them.

Yeah.  But they thought they had that with Geoff Johns.  He knows comics.  He thought he could do movies.  Now he’s so overwhelmed doing a TV show he didn’t have time to show up at SDCC.
