Title: Does anyone here collect GI Joe???
Post by: Tyroc on April 18, 2009, 06:53:27 am
Hi all, Does anyone here collect GI Joe?

I've been a huge fan since since the 80's and have been trying to build a collection for awhile now after drifting in and out of collecting over the years. I have a huge RAH collection, saw the 25th Anniversary stuff and passed because of the scale difference.

Anyway, does anyone know if the Hall of Heroes Collection and Rise Of Cobra stuff are in 3 3/4 scale or the 25th anniversary (4') scale??

No and No.

However, I did see the trailer for the Adult Swim series, which looks awesome!

Oh yeah! GI Joe Resolute written by none other than Warren Ellis.

The comics have been so good too. Then again, I'm biased Chuck Dixon is writing the main and the movie prequels and I have much platonic hetro-man love for Chuck. I loved his Nightwing, Robin, Detective, BOP, Punisher. The only man who can write 5 monthlies and all be top notch.

Then we have Christos Gage on the Cobra series which is very very cool and gritty and the legendary Larry Hama on the Origins series. I enjoyed Devil's Due but IDW is doing some great stuff.

That being said, the upcoming movie gives me the fear. Chuck Dixon's prequels are so good, I know I'm gonna be disappointed..I think i'll approach the film with very low expectations.

Xander is your man in that dept I believe.

They're out there, since the Joes are doing well in the current AFB poll.

I didn't realise that, but I guess I should have, since I saw the trailer link on his website...

I'll watch that, but I'm not planning on watching the upcoming movie.

Tyroc has a pretty kick-ass collection of them little fighting men! He was showing me a bunch of them the other day but I had to stop him when he showed me his Stormshadow jammies!

Speaking of stuff, I got all wistful about my Micronauts and looked up a checklist. I had way more of them than I thought.

So Tyroc, are we gonna turn your spare room into a GI-Joe headquarters? Should I break out the woodworking tools?

Not a GI Joe expert, but I am selling them.  The box on the Hall of Heroes says they are the 10 favorite figures from the 25th anniversary series, so I imagine they must be in the same scale as the 25th anniversary figures....just a guess though.

Did Andy put you up to this? :D

I collect Joe off and on.  As a big fan/collector of the RAH stuff I hit the 25th series really hard but I doubt I'll get the new multi packs, although I really want Recondo.  Space is an issue and unless I get around to making a pinopong table sized diorama I doubt I'll break them back out any time soon.
The 25th anniversary stuff is a fantastic tribute to the Joes I grew up with and many other lines have since followed suit, He-Man and Transformers in particular.  Hasbro's no fool when it comes to the '80s, even their new Marvel line seems partialy based around that decade.

The HOH series is mostly compromised of repacks from the 25th anniversary series with very few new parts here or there.  The Rise of Cobra stuff is somewhat new somewhat re-used but still in the 4-inch scale.  Similar to the Transformers movie line it'll be new sculpts alongside repainted stuff from past lines.

Cool thanks Xander.

I recently got my interest reinvigorated due to the IDW GI Joe comics. I saw some of the movie stuff that's coming and they look pretty cool. I really want the Pitt but it's doubtful it'll make it to Oz.

The local TRU got like one case of Joes and sold out pretty quick but they do have two vehicles I've been umming and ahhing about.

Think I might tentatively start getting some 25th ones, mostly the newer figures they never made in RAH like Wraith, Cobra Diver, Specialist Trakker etc.

I've got nearly all the originals. Still need one or two here and there. As for the newer stuff I've mostly been buying them to keep on card for the artwork. Just my favorites. I've also been buying the new characters to put on my Joe shelf. And all the vehicles cause I love the fact they're just the classic ones reissued. I keep em boxed though; which is good cause my gfs kid would dismantle them all otherwise.

Like that stupid Night SHARC I gave him.  ;)

Yeah, have to track that down again,

In the meantime, check out the new cartoon written by Warren Ellis. It's a 10 part show each part runs about 5 mins on Adult Swim like Xander mentioned. I was giggling like a schoolgirl watching it. Only 5 eps posted so far..

Well I took the plunge and bought some 25th figures. I picked up a few dirt cheap (US 0.99) so I'm pretty happy. I also got the Steeler/Serpentor 2 pack at lunchtime. You're right Xander, some of the figures aren't too badly out of scale (especially in relation to Spytroops and VvV molds) but some are hideous. They do match up very very well with Marvel Universe (Hasbro I guess) and better against the DC Infinite than the Marvel stuff.

Can't wait for the movie stuff now.

Since this seems to be the only generic GI Joe thread, let's knock the dust off.  [thumbs up]

Just got Ultimate Duke in from epay. I'd been eyeballing this dude from jump for a fast & dirty ME Leatherneck. Gave him a 25th head & Cutter's forearms. Still undecided on his webgear & hands, but if we don't see the fig from the concept case, I can be happy with this one.  [rock]  (I've been itching to use that smiley)

Anyway, Duke comes with a shitload of weapons & gear. There's also an alternate masked head so he could be used as an army builder.

The rest of the wave looks sweet, too. Can't wait to get Kwinn, Cobra Combat Ninja, & Storm Shadow.  8)

I just bought the Tomahawk reissue for $25 last week at TRU (TRU rewards come in handy)

And found the right shuttle door for my Defiant Space Station on Ebay. Would like to replace the left one eventually. Has a small break in it. But it looks whole enough for now. Man I love having it back.

Just need to get the USS FLagg at some point now. And I'll have all my Joe Holy Grails.

I love the Joes!  I went to a toy/comic shop that's right next to a TRU the other day.  As I suspected, they had a lot of TRU stuff for ass-raping prices.  They had Kwinn and Budo for U.S. $15 and Data Viper for U.S. $20.  I took the raping and got them, haven't had a chance to open them yet.  Does anyone know if the Night Viper that was solicited is actually coming out?

I used to love Joes when I was a kid. Man, they were great toys. The vehicles, the weapons, the bases. What was better? Maybe M.A.S.K. from a pure fun aspect for a kid. Probably Star Wars. But Joe's are tough to beat.

I really want a Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow right now but there are so many and the ones I like are super expensive. I am thinking about buying one set just for this cool do-jo kind of set up it comes with and then finding the right figures whenever I can.

Love the new Retaliation wave 3.5 Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow! I really hope that Hasbro does well with the Star Wars 6" Black Series line and gives ARAH Joes a shot in that scale. Seems like a no-brainer.

Just finished off a massive GI Joe addiction. When the first Dollar General Joes hit, I bought them, then went crazy and went all-out. I now have 500 of the buggers starting with the 25th anniversary up to Retaliation. [cuckoo]

Missing 2 Renegades/30th Anniversary figures and and 9 POC's to complete what I want.

Someday I'm going to figure out how to unload them.

Oh, and I wouldn't mind a Night Viper either.

Budo looks cool in the pics I've seen but his armor would need some sprucing up.  Looks plain.  I'm not much on the ninja stuff either, but I just think he looks like a pretty cool fig.

Night Viper, Jinx, and the Blind Master are all pre-order sold out at HTS. If you search their site, type "Retaliation" in to the search box instead of searching under the GI Joe Action Figures categories. For some reason certain figures don't show up if you look under the categories.  [thumbs down]

Don't know if anyone else is buying the Kre-O stuff, but this is what I got from the wave 2 'blind' packs I picked up earlier in the week.  Maybe this will help folks only looking for certain figures:

58 - BAT
79 - Mutt & Junkyard
80 - Flash
81 - Tunnel Rat
82 - Snow Job
83 - Blowtorch
86 - EEL
87 - Dr Mindbender
88 - Major Bludd

That leaves Ripper, Slice and the Land Adventurer.  Ripper is the last one I'm after.

There's a 3 3/4 line called World Peacekeepers that's showing up in decent amounts at Big Lots, at least by me.  These seem like a good compliment to the Joe's.  I've seen a large tank, a patrol boat, urban warfare playsets, a bunker, watchtowers, locker rooms, etc.  The basic figures are $5 and with them you get one large accessory like a motorcycle, horse, kayak, parachute, plus 3-4 smaller guns, flack jackets, etc.  All the large sets come with accessories from guns to barb wire to traffic cones too and are mostly $8, $10 or $13, with a couple, like the large tank for more.

I know I must sound like a shill for BL by now, but I always loved the accessories as a kid, from canteens to the bivouac, and this stuff is a great addition to my Joe collection.

Thanks for bringing that World Peacekeepers toylike to my attention.  [thumbs up]  I stopped at 2 Big Lots today and stocked up on them. They're so f'n cool. For the longest time I was wondering how I was going to display my Joes, now I know.

Title: Re: Does anyone here collect GI Joe???
Post by: AlwaysOptimistic on October 07, 2013, 08:24:13 pm
You're welcome, glad I could help!

I agree that the sets, vehicles and accessories are terrific, especially at these prices, plus I figure I can use the WP figures themselves as a third force, with or against Cobra (I never liked that the Joe's only really fought Cobra).  I think every Joe fan should at least check 'em out.

The only other advice I'd give would be to maybe check out another BL or two if there are more in your area.  I've seen certain pieces, like the $25 tank or the bigger Urban warfare set (I've seen a larger and smaller), that are only at certain stores.

Don't know if anyone else is buying the Kre-O stuff, but this is what I got from the wave 2 'blind' packs I picked up earlier in the week.  Maybe this will help folks only looking for certain figures:

58 - BAT
79 - Mutt & Junkyard
80 - Flash
81 - Tunnel Rat
82 - Snow Job
83 - Blowtorch
86 - EEL
87 - Dr Mindbender
88 - Major Bludd

That leaves Ripper, Slice and the Land Adventurer.  Ripper is the last one I'm after.

31831 58-BAT
31831 78-Land Adventurer
31831 79-Mutt & Junkyard
31831 80-Flash
31831 81-Tunnel Rat
31831 82-Snow Job
31831 83-Blowtorch
31831 84-Slice
31831 85-Ripper
31831 86-Eels]
31831 87-Mindbender
31831 88-Bludd

I managed to find all but the B.A.T., again through dumb luck.  I never saw Wave 1 after the initial shipment when I was resisting, so I never got any of them.  :'(

Yeah, I have 3 Big Lots in my area, I've been to 2 of them and the third is the furthest and in a bad part of town so idk if I'll bother with that one. The first BL had over half the line and I picked up almost everything, including the tank and large and small urban warfare. The 2nd BL only had a helicopter and the "warthog" looking vehicle. One of my fave pieces is the campfire set. It's so simple yet effective. I never would've thought to have a campfire set. So cool.  I plan on going back for more.

Have u seen the prices for these on the eBay?? Those prices are outrageous!

Anybody found 3.5 at retail? I'd love to get hold of SS & a Combat Ninja or 3.

I found it once at Walmart and nothing since.

I can understand that.  I have 8, and that's not counting all the ones I could visit if I wanted to drive for 45 minutes or something, so it's been a struggle just keeping track of what's where (I'm on a budget and can't buy all of these at once, only 7 so far).

Wow, sounds good!  I'd love to see the helicopter, but haven't yet.  I've seen all the other ones you mentioned, plus a large personnel carrier/pick up truck with an open back, labeled as a Humvee, but not one.  Two watchtowers ($13), but slightly different detailing.  A patrol boat ($15), a smaller raft ($10).  A larger bunker/fortification with sand bags, and a smaller one too I think.  Two bunk beds and a locker ($8).  A tent ($8), a couple of sets each with motorcycles (one with side cars) and barb wire/traffic cones ($8 each).  Then 2-3 other sets (I think for $10 each), one with a few guys and just a small piece of the urban warfare setting, another with a small vehicle (motorcycle I think) with a transportation vehicle behind it (called ground patrol on ebay).  For the single figs I think I've seen 6: the horse, kayak, motorcycle, parachute, an arctic set and the campfire.  I agree that the campfire is a great idea.  I'd like to get more of some of these, 5+ of the bunk beds and lockers for example, but I can't swing it now, I'll have to hope they stick around awhile.

No, I don't usually check ebay, but I agree a few of them are crazy.  There's stuff there for $80-$90 that we can buy for $20.  I bought the patrol boat the other day for $15 that is $57 on there.  It makes me extra glad that me, you and anyone else here who cares to look can get them for these prices.  I wish I could find a couple of those sets though, like there is a large camp set that would be great to see.

There is so much in this Peacekeepers line that I want and I want to army build with it.....but I probably won't cause that would actually be much too expensive. The large campfire set looks really fun though. I'm def on the lookout for that.

I'm also on the hunt for some Harley's that would look great with my Dreadnoks.

Yeah, it could be way too expensive easily.  I hate it, but am pacing myself.  But I got a BL e-mail coupon for $5 off, and went today and got a $17 Jeep with a trailing vehicle (not sure what it's called) for $12+ tax.

I saw a few new pieces in too (mostly figs and accessories on a cardboard back), but maybe they're still restocking and you may find the large campfire set still.

That'd be great.  I'm okay with the World Peacekeepers motorcycles.  Not perfect, but way better than anything else I'd had.

I found some Harley's at Walmart that are perfect for the Dreadnoks. By a company called Maisto. You should check them out in the Hot Wheels aisle. $6 a piece isn't too bad.

darthfoley you magnificent Santa bastard!

As you can see a few posts up, I was whining like a little bitch that I passed over the first Wave of G.I. Joe Kre-o figures.  Foley offered me his extra Jinx.  I passed saying that my OCD would then force me to eBay the rest of the wave.  So what does he do?  He sends me not only his extra Jinx, but 10 already opened figures that I suspect were his own collection.  The toy equivalent of the shirt off his back!

I can never repay such kindness.   [beer] to you Mr. foley!!

I'm sure you all know about them, but in case you don't I present Boss Fight Studios.

They are a group of former Hasbro designers that have formed their own company. Lots of GI Joe and Star Wars experience here. For example, they are responsible for some of the new heads in the FSS!

Check 'em out.

(PS. if you listen to the podcast that is Catrina Arana that we interviewed. Also her husband, Erik, who I got to meet at Joe Con last summer.)

From what I'm reading it's a newly retooled suit - James McCullen XXIV / Professor X with the vest part removed. Very strange that the 3 3/4 figure is also being sold separately but without the display stand ... those are pretty much standard now.

TRU?  I haven't seen these guys anywhere else but scalper stores, which is a shame.  I picked up a Blind Master as portrayed by the RZA.  Never thought I'd put that sentence together.  It's even more surreal than my William "Refrigerator" Perry.

I've heard rumors of Walgreens having some of them. They tend to never get more than one or two figures at a time though so your mileage may vary.

I just ebayed it. A seller had it loose with a Buy It Now of 20 and a Make An Offer setting, so I said 12 and they went for it. Then when it came, it was mint. Whatever, since I broke it right open. Pleased with the result. It had some cool accessories. Really takes me back to the original, which I jonesed for hard and had a real hard time finding as a kid, then was so OCD about not losing the weapons that I intentionally tossed them around when I left home at 21. Nice to have a more tricked out version here today.

I really hope you all don't mind me putting this here. I do try to promote friends' projects when appropriate and to help worthy causes. In celebration of this year's 50th Anniversary of GI Joe, The Girls of The Finest -- a subdivision of The Finest - A G.I. Joe Costume Club are putting out a 2015 pin-up calendar, the proceeds of which will go to The Wounded Warrior Project.

Their goal is to raise $7,500 and they are currently 70% funded with just under one month to go. Please take a look at their indiegogo page and see if you might be interested in what they're doing. I have to say, some of the perks seem pretty cool. Thanks!

I did manage to find some Dollar General Joes in the wild today. Love that they did that line. I got the Duke, although his head doesn't really look like Duke. I like that he looks like the anonymous guy in the left hand corner of the Marvel Comics.

My TRU has suddenly gone nuts with Hasbro 3 3/4" stuff.  After what seemed like a year of no new Joes or MU stock, the last three weeks they have gotten 3-4 cases of each.  Found two Night Vipers today and finally got the MU Abomination a week or two back.

Also, big thanks to Lukey Luke for the Ult Snake Eyes hookup!  [yess]

Huh.  I guess I was counting this guy:

Although that's really an alternate deco.  Still, hard to justify just for him.

The new Leatherneck uses the "Rockblock" battle kata? buck, so he'll be much bigger than ROC. Destro is the concept case version, & iirc is also much bigger than the 25th version. I have that Hawk already, but I'll just use him for fodder.

I'm wondering what the overall plan is, really - are they going to do the other originals like Scarlett and Breaker, etc?  Admittedly, especially as these will probably be well beyond my normal buying price I won't be much into them, but if they do make bluesuits I'll almost certainly break and buy at least one of each.

Shit! My local one didn't have any of them a month or so ago. I've got to get on the stick. I think that Baroness/Lady Jaye 2 pack is the one I'm most into. Are they selling? It's hard to gage if anyone is into Joes anymore.

Title: Re: Does anyone here collect GI Joe???
Post by: LukeyLuke on September 05, 2014, 04:45:49 pm
It's tough to say. The Leatherneck 3 pack sells out quickly, the vehicles packs sell out a little bit slower, but still a respectable time. The rest seem to be warming the pegs.
And I agree with you about the chicks 2 pack. I definitely will be getting that one. What's the other 2 pack in that wave?

At this link that I posted before:

http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/toy-fair-17/gijoe-50th-anniversary-official-product-images-now-available-12796/

So what's out and what's not out? I kind of want all this shit, but I only have a little bit of space left for Joes. I don't want to get so caught up in a "50th anniversary and this is all that's out" fervor and buy stuff I'll never put out.

What I really want is to be in the 4th grade again and play with these little motherfuckers on the floor.

Everything's out except Baroness/LJ and Snow Job/BAT (and the Cobra officer/trooper, which apparently got scrapped from the get go...because, you know, why make an army builder two pack).  Those two are supposed to hit later this month, but seem to be running late or possibly canceled/rescheduled.

Suggest if you want 'em, go looking for 'em asap.  They're TRU exclusives, which means they generally land at the store once and never restock.  My store had all the figures once, no restocks.  I never did see the vehicles here.

Baroness is being sold on ebay from China, so they made some, at least.

Hit 2 local TRUs, one had nothing, the other had the 3 packs and some of the last movie figures. Skipped the Beach Head set, grabbed the Leatherneck set. The scale is a bit off from previous offerings, they're a little larger. Great, detailed accessories. I really want the arctic 2 pack, the snipers, both vehicle sets, and the Baroness/Lady Jaye pack, so I hope I didn't miss them.

While I was at it, I also got the Dark Ninja since it has the flight suit, and the only Joe Colton. I wasn't that into the movie and I think Bruce Willis is kind of an asshole, but I couldn't pass up a "Joe" figure in the 5oth anniversary year.

Also got the repro TMNT Raphael and Krang. Hard to resist those.

Any figure I have that's in someone's likeness, I wonder if I would like that person, and feel foolish for having a toy in their likeness on display if I met them and they struck me as unlikeable.

I used to have a lot of wrestling figures and spend a lot of time at wrestling events. Some of the wrestlers were just plain dicks, but havint their "character" on my shelf didn't bother me much.

Title: Re: Does anyone here collect GI Joe???
Post by: RockoJerome on September 08, 2014, 02:48:23 pm
yeah, I was really thinking of wrestlers especially. I might still have a Chris Benoit here somewhere...

Title: Re: Does anyone here collect GI Joe???
Post by: powersthatbe on September 08, 2014, 03:54:01 pm
at the time of the Benoit thing, jacks had to destroy all the figures made of him and that also applied for the retailers, but I remember Benoit figures on Kay bees shelves long after the tragedy, which is odd as I'm sure kaybee knew about it.granted, they weren't forced to,but it was just in bad taste to keep them on the shelves.

He's one of the main reasons I've almost completely divorced myself from that world. Sad thing is he was a fairly good guy at one time. I've got a few of his figures boxed up. After the incident my already declining interest in wrestling nosedived. I haven't been to one event since, and have hardly bought any figures.

Kinda wish I'd gotten the Roddy Piper GI Joe though :)

My TRU had 5 of the Heated Battle - Blowtorch vs H.E.A.T. Viper set and nothing else.  That was probably my least wanted, but I may pick it up in a few days just to have something.  Hopefully I can find better luck elsewhere in the meantime.

Title: Re: Does anyone here collect GI Joe???
Post by: kavball on September 09, 2014, 08:13:05 pm
That Heat Viper looks pretty good. I got the 3 pack with leatherneck and I got the vehicle pack with flint and the eel. I am glad I got them but they didn't blow my mind.

Title: Re: Does anyone here collect GI Joe???
Post by: RockoJerome on September 09, 2014, 10:53:43 pm
i got in touch with a friend who works at TRU, he actually bought the Docks and HEAT Viper sets just in case anybody he knows wanted them. That worked out real well for me, as I really want that Docks set. It just kills me because it looks so fun to play with and I'm gonna just display it.

Title: Re: Does anyone here collect GI Joe???
Post by: Jase on September 11, 2014, 11:12:19 am
I was excited to pick up these 50th anniversary figures when they were first announced but since there's no TRU here and they've sold out online of several items, I think I'm going to pass. To be honest, the scale doesn't really appeal to me as much as it used to.

Hasbro needs to pull their head out of their asses and release some 6" Joes.  [tap]  [cursing]

Title: Re: Does anyone here collect GI Joe???
Post by: AlwaysOptimistic on September 11, 2014, 05:43:27 pm
Much better luck at today's TRU.  Picked up Low-Light vs. Night Viper (only 3 there) & The Vipers Pit w/Cobra Trooper, Cobra Viper and Beach Head (also 3).

I saw at least a dozen Danger at the Docks, so even though I wanted those more than the others then I'll wait 'til next week.  Also saw a fair number of The Eagles Edge w/Destro, Leather Neck and Hawk.  And there were well over two dozen Blowtorch vs H.E.A.T. Viper, so I'm in no rush there.

No sign of either arctic set, or Baroness & Lady Jaye, but compared to my last trip then I'm not complaining.

Title: Re: Does anyone here collect GI Joe???
Post by: Chooch on September 11, 2014, 10:03:39 pm
I get that the Low Light figure is awesome and was hard to come by the first time, but I'm surprised that more folks aren't after the never-released H.E.A.T. Viper.

There's the Hama series, and then this new book coming out is a continuation of IDW's own continuity, largely written by Chuck Dixon. They've had highs and lows, but the highs are pretty great. The Cobra series by Mike Costa, Christos Gage, and Antonio Fuso might be my favorite book of the new century.

...Maybe this is where they wil announce the rumored "G.I. Joe Black" Line??  Which I'd be ALL FOR, if I already hadn't spent untold $$$ on the RAH/Revival Era, 25th Anniversary/Movies/POC era...  If  it mean getting "Black"-styled 3 3/4 I could live with that, but honestly, how many more rehashes of the "core" characters can anyone deal with?? [gah]

If they did the 6 inch scale, I would really pick and choose. I'm very pleased with what we've gotten the last few years. I have no complaints on Hasbro, if I have an issue, it's with consumers not supporting the line.

I'd be broke.

Then again. At the rate they bring figures out, Star Wars Black has been nicely paced. I dread the SDCC exclusives though.

I would get:

Duke
Snake Eyes
Scarlett
Flint
Tunnel Rat
Chuckles
Jinx

Cobra Commander
Destro
Baroness
Storm Shadow
Zartan
Serpentor

My view my be slightly thawed from my "pass" stance on SW Black on these.

I would be buying them only to support GI Joe rather than want. Joe should be vehicle based line, or capable of it.

I can view the box art for gijoes black series, dark olive camo withe the logo running up the side. This has to be the most asked for wish toy line by collectors and it would rejuvenate the GI joe brand IMO.

Even if I want to buy some of the figures they showed, I'm worried about the paint apps. Did anybody see that Lady Jaye & Baroness set? Horrible paint! It's really sad to see what GI Joe has become.

Hasbro's Pulse website is taking a poll on which Kindle Worlds character to give the figure treatment too. Our old bud Jim Beard was lucky enough to have one of his characters make the cut. His character is part of the Adventure Team so he had my vote anyway. Be sure & register at the Pulse so you can vote.

Does anybody have any experience with the collector's club figure subscription service? Good or bad experiences? And just how exactly do you join it? Do you join the club and then buy a subscription? Marvel Universe/Infinite is no longer enough to satisfy my addiction, I have branched out to Joe and Star Wars. My poor wife.

I think you can do both at the same time. I haven't really heard anything bad about it. Sometimes their figure choices aren't to everyone's liking, but take an 12 figure wave of any property and you will have that.

All 4 doors and the rear hatch open on the humvee. The turret rotates fully and comes equipped with a Mk19 grenade launcher. I switched this one out for a marauder mini gun.

I saw this yesterday:

They have already met their funding goal. I think it's a pretty cool idea and a nice tribute.

So I've finally gotten around to cleaning and displaying all of my Joe stuff from childhood.  I ordered some o-rings to fix half a dozen figures, mostly from 82-85.  Makes sense.  I also have four figures with broken t hooks - all vehicle drivers from 1988.  Methinks there were some quality control issues with that batch.  Apparently t hooks are hard to come by - people strip broken figures for them.  I gambled on a pack from a chinese reseller (sinodolls).  Sounds like they dumpster dive so it's probably old stuff, but if I get 4 good ones from the batch of 50 I'll be happy.

They showed the flame throwers will have removable translucent effect parts on Facebook this morning. This could be an expensive one.

And I got a refund, no t-hooks, no explanation.  At least I got a refund I guess.

And then the next day the t-hooks show up in the mail!  So, free t-hooks?  It's a Real American Chinese Hero Miracle!

I really enjoy collecting and customizing with Marauder's products.  The WWII figures look great for this kickstarter.  He has a nice "cross section" of soldiers from around the world.  The details are great and the accessories look amazing.  I think these figures will look great on their own or as additions to other existing figure lines (WWII GI Joes, Howling Commandos for Marvel, Indiana Jones).  Anyways, check them out, I have never been disappointed with Marauder Gun Runners, I have been buying products from them for several years.

So, 6" Joe's are finally coming. I'm psyched to see what we get. I haven't been all in on anything since DCUC, but I got a feeling that's about to change.  [rock]

Yeah, if this ends up being the 6” RAH line I’ve always wanted, I’m pretty much 100% in (probably not on variants, but at least all characters)

I'm soooooooo in.  I hope they don't just do repeat characters.  I'd love to see some new ones.

I'm super excited for reveals next weekend.  Could be a very expensive line for me, depending on how they go with it.

Best toy news for me in a while. I'd also like to see Mezco get a shot at the license.

I'm optimistic that these will be awesome! Getting them in Australia is another story though.

He looks really cool. A few missing details from his RAH look which has me concerned about the level of creative liberties they’re going to take on this line.

Sold!

Hopefully won't be too hard to acquire. If the exclusive has a visor, I'm betting v1 will be in the wave. But I guess the extras could be the exclusive. I still like the goggles better, but if I can lay hands on this, it's sold.

As for the background art, I hope that cover (hat) on Gung Ho ain't representative of what we'll see when/if we get a figure. We Marines  are stickers about that sorta shit. That may be Gung Ho, but that's an Army hat, lol.

Overall, the exact details on this line don't bother me. As long as they stay in the spirit of the original I'm good.  I look at this as it's own thing, just another imagining of the Joes I love. Been at the top of my toy wishlist for years & I really don't expect Hasbro to disappoint, so I'm stoked.

Welp. Looks like instead of the RAH line most people wanted, we’re getting all new designs based on nothing. I’m out for anything that isn’t at least moderately representative of their RAH looks.

Nailed this one, imho. A little paint for the holster, & maybe the belt. But wow! Can't wait to own this. The heroes in this wave aren't my favorites of the cast, but Destro is one of my two favorite villains, so I'm stoked to see how well he turned out.
