i wonder if we will be getting star wars 6" on the pegs in Australia. i do not think i will be getting any but i still want to see them on the shelves

I would think there is a better chance than with Marvel Legends, and we've seen some of them.

Got it for $150 with shipping Bobba Fett.Man, I am a sucker to these things but had to negotiate with the seller but at least its not $250-$300 price. If I do not like it ,I will sell it.Now,just the Thunderbolts set need to find a good price.

If you are going to sell, I'd do it quickly before a single carded Boba hits shelves. Everything I've heard is that it is the same figure.

I've hear folks say online they will wait for that rather than pay extra for the exclusive.

I think it's 3 or 4 per year. 

Best 6-inch figures that I have seen this year, its like a Toybiz figure just need some improvement on head-sculpt. I would not take them out of the box, because they look good on it.

I have decided against them thus far but If one day I happened across a Vader in a toy isle I don't know if my resolve would hold.

That Sandtrooper is eye candy and so I bought another two...I would be buying more of these since the Stormtrooper would be plain white.

I just saw the wave 1 figures at a recent convention, but none actually made me whip out my wallet.

They were nice, but just not USD$50.00 nice, so I'd rather wait and see if they ever appear at regular stores.

I went to the Parramata Fair and they were $40 each but people were still buying it.

Yeah, that Leia face is pretty horrid. Funny too as the Han likeness is spot on.

I do not get why Han has a white paint on his crotch area, it seems that he is a wearing a diaper.

R2D2 is on the way. Maul is a really great figure. I like Luke but I am going to be very selective in this line so I will wait for a black attire Luke. Same thing with the Sand Trooper even though it might be the best of the first four.

I'm holding off on Luke as well, at least until the Bespin version comes out in Wave 3.  It's hard to guage whether or not this line will last long enough to get four or five different incarnations of Luke, but based on the initial reception, I'm thinking it should have a pretty nice run.   This is especially fun for me as I have always passed on the traditional 3.5" SW figs.

I did pick up the other three though.  I love Imperial Troopers too much to pass on the Sandtrooper.  In fact, I may pick up another one if I run across it at retail.

I got R2 in the mail today from TRU. Very cool. Tough to pay $20 for an R2 figure, but they loaded him with accessories to try and make it premium. I will have more thoughts when I get it out of the package.

I collected the old smaller line like I am this one. Cherry pick the best versions of the main characters. I'll get Ben, Luke, Han, Chewie, and C3PO and if I can find a great Leia, her too. I have hated all of her smaller figures, and judging by that Slave Leia, they may have a tough time with this scale too. Oh and Darth, a few Storm Troopers (if possible) and Palpatine. And Boba Fett.

I can't wait that long  [gah]

Anyway, after holding out I broke down and got the first wave at retail, subsequent waves on order from MikeS.  My Star Warsian is a bit rusty, but is Luke sporting a DL-44?  Did he ever do that?

Wave 3

Anakin is rumored to be the 4th figure, but no pics yet that I know of. Also it looks like they skimped on the paint detail in the hair compared to Wave 1 Luke. I have an extra pilot Luke for a headswap, but I might have to break out the brushes on Kenobi. People are bitching about the inaccuracies of the Stormtrooper helmet, but it looks like a fucking Stormtrooper to me.  8)

I don't know if it's the paint or what, but that Bespin Luke just makes me [sick]. Hope it looks better in person...

Yeah, the finish is a bit off.....def prefer the X-Wing Luke head.

At least they're easy to find. It has been really hard to resist that Artoo.

Those Storm Troopers are going to be tough to find. I really want four of them but i bet it'll be tough to get them. There will probably be a thousand clone troopers at any given time though.

Don't care about the prequel figures.

I'm all for the prequel figures like Dooku and other Sith/Jedi (if they do Clone Wars as well), but yeah, I can't tell those clone troopers apart so I hope we don't get endless variants.

I bshould have clarified, I don't care about those prequel figs. I bought Maul. would happily buy Asaj Ventress is they did her.

I wonder if there's any limit in scope for the series? In addition to Ventress, I'd be down for Darth Talon, etc.

Wow, Luke and Obi-Wan aren't quite as impressive as the other figs we've seen.  I may need to pick up X-Wing Luke now.

As for Bespin Luke, his head has a manga/anime look almost, imho, while X-Wing Luke looks almost like realscan or some shit. Hopefully it (& Ben) looks better on the final
product. If not, that's exactly why I'll have an extra pilot Luke.  O0

Leia doesn't seem to be a bad sculpt, just bad paint. There was a pic comparing a before and after touch up and she looked pretty good in the latter.

Its already almost over folks.  They're going to 3 figures in wave three so they can rerelease a figure.  Wave one is already peg warming cause it shipped for 6 FUCKING MONTHS!!!!!!!  They have somehow managed to become WORSE than Mattel.  Its unfuckingbelievable!

Greedo rules. Might grab Artoo if I can find him around $15. Still want Han. And Vader better be perfect on the first fucking try because there is no way I am buying multiples of characters who had one key look. Still need Han.

I would rather have him when the sculpt is finalized, and they produce him, myself, but if you simply must have him now, I would happily send you a dripping lump of wet clay.

Seems they want us to wait on The most popular versions of Luke (Farmboy and Jedi), so that might be the case for Chewie. But then they gave us a regular Han, so it is anybody's guess.

I don't know whether that's just a regular observation or sexual innuendo.....but I'll just go with the latter as that's how I roll.

Seems like it.  I'm not a "Bah, Humbug!" guy by any means, but because all five of us have fall birthdays, Oct through Dec is just a bundle of financial stress for me.  I know that's not what it's supposed to be about, but that's what we've made it into as a society, especially here in the States.

Just got R2-D2 for 9.99 off amazon.  Series 1 Luke and Maul were also 9.99 but I don't want them.

so now I just gotta get Han and Bobba Fett from series 2 and a couple Stormtroopers from series 3 and I'll be caught up.  Just eight more on the want list.

Yeah, I hear ya.  Somehow we have the registration and insurance on two cars as well as house insurance also all due Oct-Dec.

Just last night I got around to open my first 6-in. Sandtrooper. And 'tis a good one.

I will remain cautiously optimistic as I go through the rest of wave 1, since I foresee I will need to do something about the alignment of Maul's nose tattoos on one or both heads.

By itself, I think it's around $10. I grabbed a couple other things and it's very very affordable.

So far of wave 2 I've only seen a Han in a Meijer and a Greedo at Target.  Really like Han but can't afford to get in the line at all.
Though that perspective may change when/if I see Boba.

I'm loving this line more and more. Fett is a superb figure (despite limited articulation)

The thing that drew me towards collecting the Clone Wars line was that the figures were at the very least as articulated as the characters in the realistic line.

I don't feel I'll be getting the new SW: Rebels figures if they stick to just the 5 PoA, unless they go really cheap right from the start.

I kind of liked the look of that guy. Somewhere between animated and real.

I would have preferred them to at least have knee articulation, but I don't know...I'm such an uber cherry picker when it comes to STAR WARS that I might buy some if they look cool.

And that INQUISITOR does look pretty cool....  8)

I've decided I want a 6" scale AT-ST

Finally found the Boba at Meijer last night.  Love the figure but not enough to make me get the entire series.  My only major flaw is trying to get him to hold his rifle in both hands.

Yeah, I found that as well. I think it's also the shape of the gun as I found he couldn't hold it one handed very well either.

There are so many Slave Leias warming the pegs it's unreal. That should be the next custom competition, what can you make out of Slave Leia. I won't participate  ;D

I still don't get why people aren't buying this figure. I don't think it was lacking in accessories like many do, but maybe a few more would've made it more appealing to the casual buyer.

This is the last line I'd consider cherry picking as I know I'd regret skipping figures later on.

The casual buyer in the toy aisles (i.e., not a collector) doesn't have that same mentality though. They should be seeing Greedo and saying, "wow, that's a great looking action figure" (ch-ching), just the same as they see Leia and say "wow, what the fuck happened to her face?".

It's possible, but he looks very awkward doing it.  Not to mention how the rifle will bend.

In Oz you can't find wave 1 or 2 now. Even at a higher price point they're selling.

Literally passed on Fett a couple weeks back. I have no desire to own him, and leaving him will hopefully make some kid happy.

I'm sure they'll do a Jedi version of him at some point. That costume was slightly better, at least until he died.

They've done lots of re-issues on the MU figures except for the fucking Vision and classic Havok I still need.

They do reissue stuff, although they are ver7y inconsistent about it.

Got a sand trooper from the states via e-bay £15 for the figure and £10 shipping,the add said could be damaged box and would probably be better as an opener.
It turned up to day and the box is as good as most very small dent to the back corner but not enough to notice.
So I'm all in for wave 1&2....just waiting for wave 3 to hit the shops :-)

I'd guess he has at least a couple hundred figures for the arrival of Palpatine on the deathstar.

Self restraint is not something we're known for.

When I was at SDCC in 2011, I spent about $1200 on back issues with about 30 mins left of the show. I just kept piling them up in a panic that I'd run out of time.

They brought Han back for wave 3, so he should be readily available. I have a few cases of him myself....

All 3 are warming the pegs here, and Boba has proven to be very elusive. Weird...

Already had Han and didn't really want Obi-Wan, but I still bought the case because it was almost cheaper than hunting down the Stormtrooper and Luke separately. I an always display Han with both his belts. Obi-Meh-Kenobi is pretty disappointing.

Really wish Hasbro could have done us a favor and gave us two Stormies in Wave 3.

Yup, just 1. As far as I know all the figures in these waves have been 1 per case. Hard to believe based on how many X-Wing Lukes and R2s are still all over the pegs here.

yep. I have been watching Amazon closely for Storm Troopers, hoping to get two before the prices spiked. And they hit and immediately went to about 60 bucks. Fuck. I'm sure Luke will be the repeat figure as a top guy rather than the strom trooper who anyone in the hobby could tell would be the hot figure that would be impossible to get. They could do the ST three times and it'd still be in high demand.

...and this is why we red card them so often on the podcast. They could have a "B" case assortment that was 4x Stormtroopers and they'd sell.

Lego didn't think a box of 1 Darth Vader and 99 Stormtrooper minifigures would sell either. What would we know.

That wasn't the reason they gave, from memory. They said it was price, I.e. People wouldn't pay what it would be priced at.

The reason is because they cannot sell 'just' minifigures due to licensing.

I'm only after two as well. I just want them to flank behind Vader when he comes out. I may just bite the bullet and buy the second one at a premium and be done with hit.

Anyone know if the Biker Scout is planned for a release without the Bike? I'd like to get an additional one or two of those, but I really don't have room to display more than one bike.

I am starting to think that the 90's Star Wars are better to collect than the 6 inch version since you can army build and make displays of different ships but also cool dioramas.But also nearly every character is done even the obscure.

I took in my brother when he was 12. He was a huge pain in the ass who was at times disrespectful, disobedient, a poor student, a lazy kid, and all the other shit kids do that annoy parents, but I didn't make him and at times that made him harder to deal with. He's almost 21 now and most of that still applies at times.

For Christmas this year he spent a good chunk getting me that Boba Fett.

My cousin had like 20 in the 1970's all in good condition...he had every Star Wars figure and he still got the boxes for every single of them. This is why I am thinking of collecting the power of the force in the 90's as it has cool playsets and every character is made but also I can amass storm-trooper armies.

The ML is dying out for me and MOTUC, I am just picking the characters that were released back in the 1980's.So I am focusing on Star Wars and I never opened them except for the 5 troopers.

It would make sense for characters that size to be shipped 2 per pack, although Series 1 R2 kind of proves that people is not against spending that kind of money for a rather small figure.

Two new figures in wave 4 and I'm not even interested in Anakin. Hasbro was building the main cast with Han, Luke, Leia, R2 and this was a great opportunity to throw us a curveball like a Cantina alien, but instead we get more rereleases.

Great choices for rereleases  though. Hioefulky this extra money in non tooled figures that will sell out willgo into  making Chewie huge.

Apparently the folks in charge were not happy with the way Chewie was packaged "running man" styled, so they"re changing it so he was bumped from wave 4.

Picked up a Stormtrooper this morning if anyone needs.  Cost ($22 after tax) plus shipping.

There's a good chance that saved us from getting a warped figure so I am very okay with that.

Vader was at Lexington Comic Con last month, I wanted to go just to meet him, but I had to go out of town, but a friend of mine who went said that he was screaming at anyone that was trying to take free pictures of him.  Even little kids. "I'M TRYING TO WORK OVER HERE!"

The good news is that Hasbro has started doing solid packs of characters so at least I don't end up with lots of repeats to unload.

I have yet to buy one of these from a retail store, and have no intention of do so going forward.  If I did, I would be furious with the retarded distribution.  My WMs don't have them, and my Targets and TRU's could not possibly fit another on the shelves.  Leias and Hans everywhere!  Everytime I see these pegs, I love MikeS just a little bit more.   ;)

Found my first Stormtrooper at a WM that didn't previously carry them....bringing my grand total to 2.   [moon]  I got a Jabba, which is a decent figure.  Not great, but decent.  The Biker Scout actually does look great, but I think i'm gonna save it for a rainy day.  If you asked me which was worse, the Jar Jar scenes or the Endor scenes, I would have a very hard time deciding.  I was gonna display the speeder anyway, but now I'm rethinking. 

And since a lot of ebay sellers seem determined to make no profit on Anakin, I got one of those as well.  Unfortunately, this is the worst figure in the line.....except maybe Leia.  It just doesn't look right.  And they really half assed the paint on the head.

I doubt it.  There are so many Hans and Leias out there that most stores won't even get that wave.  Releasing Boba Fett again will probably cause him to pegwarm too.

This line is dead in my area because they can't shift the Greedos and Slave Leias. I have never seen a single wave 3 figure.

Wave 3 is at retail in Oz in some places - however lots of Hans still around too.

My TRU has a full display of the Han/Greedo 2-Pack - right next to a Han and a Greedo hanging on the pegs.

Our closest TRU has the same display. Though I finally found Boba Fett for Titansfan there.

Unless his accessories were hidden in the box, you get one rotocast figure for $40?? No thanks.

Yeah, I'm struggling with the Biker Scout too.  It's nicely done, but there's a lot of lines competing for a limited toy budget.  I buy a Biker Scout, and I'm done (or close to it) for that paycheck.  (If you think your kids are expensive now, wait until they're teenagers!).  I'd rather get two or three figures over the course of  that fortnight.

The Jabba with absolutely nothing else boggles my mind that it can sell at $40.  The Biker Scout is pushing it at that price range.  The Luke/Wampa and Han/Taun Taun seem like they'd be worth it though.

I found Wave 3 in Myer Australia yesterday. There was a single Stormtrooper among the others for the princely sum of $36.95. I left it there.

Checked 4 Walgreen's this morning.  Found Vader and Jedi Luke at the store I found the Hand of the King Tyrion.  It's still the only store to carry the GoT stuff.

I'm finding this whole "walgreens" thing very, VERY annoying!  Most of them don't know fuck all about these supposed WIC numbers, and NO store in New Jersey has so much as sniffed a Venom or these Star Wars figs.  Venoms have been out for a fucking month now!  Getting old real fast. 

Vader is pretty awesome, with one flaw that bothers me.  Maybe I'm spoiled, but I'm used to the Jedi/Sith figures having a spot to hook their lightsabers to when they aren't in use.  Might not bother you, but it's a nit I'll pick.  Everything else is pretty great.

Luke is mostly awesome, but there isn't much to be messed up.  With an all-black outfit, it's hard even for Hasbro to screw up the paint.  Luke's face isn't as scarred as it should be for "Jedi" Luke.  The saber looks great in one and two-handed poses.  The hilt feels a little flimsier than earlier lightsabers in this line, though.

There are about 10 Walgreen's in town and the immediate areas outside town, one of which I haven't checked yet but will this afternoon.  Only one has shown any evidence of these guys so far. I've got no idea about how often these guys restock/reorder, but I'll probably be hitting the one store every other day for a while.  Need that Chewie.

Hit all 7 Wagreens in Lexington today. No Star Wars. They almost all had a good selection of GoT, but only one had Venom. Almost bought him just so I wouldn't go home empty handed.

I only saw the Agent Venom at (an absolutely amazing and upscale) Walgreens in downtown Chicago along with some GoT figures, but have yet to see any black series anywhere.

I found all four yesterday, but only because the little corner of the world where I live is geographically undesirable to the greater Jacksonville area.

In Jacksonville proper (where I work), it was a different story.  I knew I wasn't going to find anything up there when every Walgreens employee I spoke with on the phone or in person knew exactly what I was looking for.

Went looking for exclusive Fett yesterday & ran up on Vader & Chewie. Only had the change for one & it made for a hellacious decision. I figured Vader would be harder to come by, so I went with him. Man it did suck having to leave the Wookie, tho. Luckily my boss at my part-time gig paid me early and I hurried to Walgreens & was able to score him today. Haven't opened him yet, but he looks awesome.

Stopped by Walgreens and found Vader and Chewie.  Felt good to actually find something in the wild for a change.

At first glance I thought that X-Wing was okay thinking that the R2-D2 figure could finally be placed in it. Then I realized they'd made it even worse, with no pilot hatch AND only half an R2 figure included. [dunno]

Checked 5 Walgreen's today and 4 of them had a shelf tag with no product for SW Black, so maybe it'll pop up. 

Meanwhile, I saw a ton more Greedo & slave Leia at TRU and a Target I usually don't check.

Then I went to another Walgreens, saw they were stocking the toy section, got excited, I asked an employee if they had any Star Wars stuff in there, he said that he just put those out last night and they barely made it to the shelf before they were gone. Fuck.

Third Walgreens, they had a spot for the figures but none on the shelf. Assuming I missed those too.

Fourth Walgreens, crappy toy selection, doubt I'll have luck there.

Fifth and Sixth Walgreens, nothing at either.

This is making me hate the hobby all together. I don't even want the stupid things anymore, I just want to not feel like I've wasted all this time for nothing. Lexington isn't that big of a city that these would fly off that quickly unless it was probably just one person buying them all. If it is, I hope they get gonorrhea.

I'm getting sick of this shit as well.  I've been calling the same store for more than a month straight now.  I called last night....they say no Star Wars.  Then magically this morning, they were PACKED OUT last night!  The lady says she has a "brown one and a white one"  So I went and got Chewy and the stupid Boba Fett.  Thing is, where they had them, there was only room for the 2 I bought, and the black ST and extra Fett.  So either they didn't even get Luke and Vader, sold them straight from the box, or an employee bought them.  Either way, FUCK WALGREENS!!!!!  How the fuck is the only retailer getting ANYTHING in near future this bullshit half assed chain? 

My TRU got SW Black wave 3 today. Yep, the one with the Stormtroopers.

Calling any large store to see if they have stuff is pretty much a waste of time, with asking employees on the spot not much better. It's so rare for anyone to give you anything but disinformation.

Walgreens isn't receiving full cases of these figures. They are receiving 3-5 random figures thrown into a tote, so it would be very unlikely that you would come across Vader, Chewie, Luke, Sandy, and Fett all at the same store.

I'm all over the place on this line. One minute I love it and want to collect it, the next I have next to no interest. Multiple trips to Walgreens with no pay-out haven't helped, but I think it's because I've become bored since DCUC/DCIE ended and I just start buying figures for the hell of it. I used to love Star Wars so much as a kid, but I'm just not feeling it so much now. I wish Hasbro would get a clue and release a 6" GI Joe: ARAH line with the same detail they've given the SW Black Series.

Success! Wanted to try the 3 stores in town that had them listed as In Stock on the site. First one had nothing on the shelves, but I asked for help and he said the only one they got in was Vader and someone was already in before me trying to find Fett. So I got Vader.

Store #2 had nothing and an employee asked if I wanted help, so I asked her about the figures and she said someone was already in earlier and bought the two they had gotten in. Gave the same response as everyone else talking about how popular these seem to be and how they get constant calls about them.

Store #3 had Luke and Vader on the shelf. Grabbed Luke and checked out, the manager immediately recognized me from last week, which I found funny.

Now I just need Chewie, but I got the two I wanted the most.

Only real gripes I have are Vaders knees and Luke's hilt being made of recycled Sour Patch Kids. Very happy with both.

There's not much in the way of forward/back articulation on Chewie's neck, but his torso is sorta segmented (seems like it, anyway) where the 'layers' of fur are, so there's some play in the movement using that. 

Luke's sweet black robe arrived from the mysterious land of ebay.  Yeah, it's pretty long overall and at the sleeves, but I really like it.  Gonna get a brown one for Obi-Wan, maybe a couple more of each.  Very good quality.

Finally found a fucking Vader yesterday.  This is one of those figures that looks MUCH better in person.  All of the pictures I've seen make his mask....I don't know what to call it.....droopy?  I guess?  Like it looks sad.  But the figure in person is fucking awesome.

I think we all spend too much time picking at these genre films. All the Star Wars movies are basically just way above average children's movies, and if not for their insane marketing success, would've been totally disposable to the mainstream. They would've been very influential to certain kinds of filmmakers, but other than that, the true fans could have them. We sort of had a time when the movies were like that before the figures came back. If you were an adolescent getting those 90's Topps cards or talking your mom and dad into an extra day at Disney World so you could ride Star Tours again, Star Wars was YOURS. Nobody gave a fuck anymore but you. If someone wanted to have a really serious conversation with you about the awfulness of Ewoks or something you would quickly tune them out so you could go try to track down the figures you missed at junk tables at the flea market and keep having fun. To me, Empire Strikes Back will always be the movie that made me a sad 4 year old, Return Of The Jedi made me a happy 5 year old, and no matter who conspires to make me feel differently about that...hey, you know what, let's get in depth like that on a movie for adults if we want to dissect a film.

The internet is like a bummer machine for malcontents. I had a friend who went from loving that last Indy movie to hating it. He saw it 4 times opening weekend and bought all these t-shirts and shit, and then six months later he called it "an abomination." An abomination! C'mon, man. You like it or you don't. Celebrate what you do and just move on past what you don't. Try making something yourself. Even if it sucks, you just did something productive, at least. Change the names a little and make the version you would've made. Start there. The 50 Shades Of Gray broad made a billion dollars doing that shit, she just rewrote Twilight with ballgags and assplay. Anything but just bitching about the shit for the rest of your life.

I honestly don't care too much for any Indy movies after the first one, which I love, but if I was going to watch a sequel deliberately it would be Crystal Skull, as I liked the 50's Rock & Roll element and old Indy all busted up but still trying to hump. There were a couple parts I liked, namely "You don't have to get sore all the time to prove how tough you are, kid" and the point where Mutt shows Indy the picture of young Mutt with his stepdad, and he's this adolescent dork. You really see how much his tough guy routine is an affectation...much as my own 50's greaser routine as a 90's teen was. I related to that character enough to get that Shia figure and paint his hair red. 

I dunno. I can see that people on the jump on the band wagon of "it's a bad movie." And also on the flipside. But it's always appeared to me with Star Wars and Indy there's a section of fandom that just could or would never accept there's a bad movie even if it had the production values of Troll 2. They're the only genre films that I've seen where people complain when others don't like them. If you say Die Another Day or Alien Resurrection is shit that's fine. Put down KOTC or the Prequels and it's like you're insulting their childhood or something.

Well dude, in a way, you are. They loom large in people's lives and they want to enjoy them and accentuate the positive, and the one place that should be safe -in the comforting embrace of other geeks- turned bad. And stayed bad. It's one thing to say "Well, I don't like it" or even have some criticisms, it's another to have what we've had. There's no 15 part youtube video series about how much Die Another Day ruined someone's life. It went crazy and went on and on. And people changed their opinion because they gave in to peer pressure, and the little popcorn movies that they should've been celebrating just became points of depressing, obsessing contention.

I'll share my old "Fanboy A" and "Fanboy B." If you've read this one already, skip this paragraph. I was at my LCS years ago, where this dork was getting all worked up with excitement about Wrestlemania a few nights before. "And the Undertaker came back, and he's the Deadman again, and they had a screen behind him that looked like a city was on fire, and it was awesome. He's awesome, it was awesome." This shit really made this guy happy. And just like that, some other geek, who wasn't in the conversation at all, pipes up. "He's fat now, that hat looks stupid, he's too old, needs to retire, and that screen was fake." And the first guy, instead of fighting back, just caved. "Yeah, I guess it was lame." That shit happens every 5 seconds on the internet.

You know I'm not part of that clique.

I also really have come to like Alien 3. Shit horror movies like Thankskilling I own. Hell, I see a lot of the points they make on Red Letter Media about movies I really like. Doesn't mean I stop liking them. The Red Letter Media things are great partially because they don't just lampoon the prequels, they lampoon the people who compulsively rip at them, and a lot of people miss that, I think. Everybody says "It's just a movie" but it's clearly not, or else we wouldn't still be having this conversation all the time.

I'm guessing your wife has her shit together a whole lot better than the 'Taker mark who was at Comic Book World getting his shine on that Wednesday before some other nerd decided to shit in his hat. My point is, for me, I would rather put out the positive vibes than the negative, especially as sometimes the thing you're hating on may be just about all someone else has.

Jack, there are exactly two good parts in TOD. The dinner scene, and Mola Ram tearing out a man's still-beating heart. It was worth watching for those scenes alone.

But I never much cared for India's 'culture' so movies in that setting bore me. Same with any movie set in Mexico, to Mariachi music.

There are always exceptions, and even a bad movie often has its good points. I, for one loved Revenge of the Sith and after tie-in media fleshed it out, Attack of the Clones is redeemed somewhat.

Though, as I said, fanwankery abounds in the expanded universe, but fanwankery is really what fans want at this point.

Bringing it back to the toys though, there are already assholes asking for Double-Z-List characters in this line. I don't think we should get even the damn Cantina Aliens if they didn't speak, and these fuckers are begging for the Ice Cream Guy from ESB.

Honestly, SW 6" is something we have wanted for years, but we have to be choosier with them because of the cost. Do you REALLY want Wuher clogging pegs when it comes time to do Count Dooku, and you can't fucking find him because Target says they have 20 units on the pegs that ain't selling?

Leave the 'do everything that had a second of screentime (and a novel's worth of ridiculous fucking backstory)' to the 3.75" line, and stick to characters everybody knows, not the most obscure background shit nobody but the sweatiest fatasses crammed into Boba Fett Armor can name and give the entire history of.

Yeah, they need to really stick to the main characters, here. I have Han and Bespin Luke. I'll get a Vader should I come upon one, maybe a Cloud City Han, maybe a Threepio, maybe a white gown Leia, but other than that, I'm out.

I'm fine with the core cantina aliens. Sure, I don't want them at the expense of Sir Alec Kenobi or Disco Lando,  but not having them is the same as saying no to Tusken Raiders and dang if I don't want a bunch of them and an in scale Bantha.

Definitely agree with this. I'm only definitely buying Vader and Obi-Wan, but going past guys like Ponda Baba or Gamorrean Guard for $20 at retail to me is a mistake.

What they really should do is have a Subscription service to deal with the oddballs through Star Wars Insider or something. I'm sure there're enough fans who'd drop $30 a pop like MOTUC for the Hammerhead or Uncle Owen or Ree Yees.

That and stick variant heads with Snowspeeder Luke or Captain Piett at retail to help keep them off the pegs. Throw in an additional Biggs head (and helmet) with X-Wing Luke and you've just sold two to a lot of fans.

Next wave or 2 is Emperor, Yoda, Commander Cody, IG-88, the ridiculously awful Han AND fucking Luke in their Stormtrooper uniforms, and a Boosh Leia.  Why is Leia the only major character not to get a figure worth buying yet? 

In all my years, I have seen some really pegwarmy pegwarmers.  The massive release of the 6 inch Han, Superior Spider-Man, and the GOTG Iron Man are approaching JLU Kilowog status.  But Stormtrooper Han and Luke have the potential to really give new meaning to the phrase.  I would not take either one for free.  I would not take them if Hasbro gave ME $20 for them.

Definitely want Palpatine and Yoda.  Will probably get IG-88, though I'd rather see Threepio getting a figure.  Don't really need Han and Luke in Trooper gear, but I suppose it is a way to get more Stormtroopers into the collection for army builders.  Can't tell from the pics, but hopefully Luke is appropriately short.  Can't say that Boushh Leia was high on my want list, but it looks much better than Slave Leia.  Don't really need Clone Troopers, but they look pretty good, too.

Palpatine was maybe my most wanted figure and they delivered... a massive turd. Why give him a fabric cloak (that's too short) if you're going to do a plastic skirt? Now you have a weird looking mix and he can't move his legs. Not even sure if he comes with a lightsaber. He needed lightning hands too.

I think there's no doubt that the black series will be TFA-heavy around the movie, but I'll bet it doesn't go entirely that route.  Hasbro has been good about Transformers movie toys dominating around movie times, but still throwing classic fans some bones.

It's good if you're a collector, but is this a bad sign in terms of the longevity if stuff is always going on sale to move it?

Could be bad, especially seeing how over ordered some of the waves have been.  The Walmarts and Targets here have been choking on older stuff.  WM still hasn't put stuff on sale, so they're especially bad right now. 

The deluxe figures have been stagnant.  I can go grab a few dozen speeder bikes around town right now.  I think the price point is just too high.  The $20 figures can be stagnant, but not nearly as bad.  We'll see if the Wampa/Taun-Taun sets do any better.  They're frankly way more appealing than fat Jabba with zero accessories for as much as it cost to take my family out to dinner.

I'm hoping my Jabba and Biker Scouts are long-term investments...  [innocent]  Fortunately, I didn't get that many in, but as a seller, seeing those prices makes me think about passing on future SW Deluxe figures.

I couldn't pull the trigger on Jabba even at that price. I just don't care about the character, and he's not toyetic.

I was going to collect the line, and was happy after Wave 1 (though was still thinking of tracking down Boba w/Han in carbonite).  But my bad luck and the exclusives really extinguished my enthusiasm.  I kept hitting Walgreen's and when I finally, a couple weeks ago, spotted a fresh wave with Yoda, Tie-Fighter pilot, etc. then I guessed that I missed the exclusive there, and those were the first new single figures I'd seen since (part of) Wave 2. 

I guess the exclusives and rarity on some figures and sets is par for the course, but I really don't know that I want to have to order so much online. 

Speaking of Star Wars, DH is having a farewell digital mega bundle of everything (or close to it) that they've published (which includes compilations of the original Marvel stuff).  $300 for thousands and thousands of pages, off the list price of $2,714.34.

Thanks Chooch.  I've (almost) always had strong OCD when it comes to these things, but that's probably called a disorder for a reason?   [dunno]  The lack of say, Salacious Crumb, shouldn't bother me so much, but I guess that we all have our issues.  Glad that you're happy with your collection though. 

I want the SDCC exclusives as I feel robbed not having hansicle and jabba's extras, but the price means they'll always be a no go for me as the prices are just too unreasonable.

I think it was the combination of toy/comic collecting getting ridiculous and meds for other disorders that toned down the OCD for me.  I just couldn't sustain the pursuit of all the variations and keep say a job or feed myself.  A therapist pointed out to me that OCD tendencies are over the line when they start interfering with your day-to-day basic functions.  I know that sounds self-evident, but it wasn't until someone pointed it out to me that I was able to make the distinction in my life and give myself that sort of early warning.

I'm not paying more than $100 for it. Myer had it for $150 with a 20% discount at one stage and that's still too much.

My sympathies.  I suppose that if I really wanted them badly enough then I could put other stuff off and save up enough, but I think I ultimately don't (I do collect way too many things, from statues to books to graphic novels to tv and movies, etc.), and for me at least it's better to just put off buying anything past the Wave 1 I already have.  I do wish you luck in finding a reasonable price on them though.

Fortunately for me, after I finally cut off buying single issue comics (thanks again Marvel & DC!) then I was done with obsessing about variants (unless it was something I was a big fan of, and the variation was substantial enough).  For example, I'm not nearly as concerned with say the Imperial Shadow Squadron from Target as I think it's pretty much repaints and wasn't something I connected with.  But I figure that unless I stick with a very limited SW collection then I should include a Salacious Crumb, so maybe it's better just not to collect in the first place?  I don't know, I guess it's a personal thing, but I take care of my responsibilities and I'm not risking eviction or going hungry, so I guess it's manageable, but probably something I should keep aware of, and try to find ways to improve on.  Thanks again.

I got Yoda on a whim at Walgreens and he sat in my car for a week and a half. Opened him today. He sucks. Sculpt is fine and even the robe isn't bad, but Jeezus, give him some elbros and kneebros.

I've passed on Yoda about 4 or 5 times. Still haven't found a Tie Pilot.  >:(

Welp, I did my taxes and I have a nice return coming my way, so I caved and bought a handful of Stormtroopers. Nothing crazy, but enough to look nice flanking Vader.

Hasbro said there is new product but its being saved for celebration that is coming up shortly. and they can't show to far ahead as there is an embargo on a lot of star wars product on items coming out in the second half of the year .

I did add a vintage Yoda to my collection today, though. Always one I liked, but I have a hard time paying the same amount for a half sized figures as I would for Vader.

What have you guys heard about this line?  Heard that Hasbro is going to just be flooding the market with SW Episode 7 stuff starting 4th quarter, so won't be much of the "classic" stuff for awhile (I guess episodes 1 - 6 are classic now?).  (Didn't hear this from a rep or anyone like that).

I guess Star Wars Celebration next month will have all the reveals?

That wouldn't surprise me at all.  They barely showed any SW at TF this year.  So I expect SDCC to be very SW heavy with all the shit from the new movie.  As long as they don't completely ruin the 6 inch line....which they are trying very hard to do anyway.....then I don't care what they put out.  And hopefully the movie will be good and i'll actually want some of the new stuff.

If you release all the main characters first, there won't be any strong anchors for future waves. At least the aliens are visually interesting and not the same old repaints.

If they go for the original Kenner cantina aliens, they would do quite well, I think. I'd sure buy Hammerhead, Walrus Man and Snaggletooth if done in the 6-inch line, and after that they could at least include one other alien from the other films in each wave.

I think they should release ONLY major and secondary characters. When we get to guys like the Ice Cream Guy from Empire, it's time to hang it up.

Seriously, I don't wanna see the Cantina band, Podracers, random Gungan #5, or even that Wolfman from the Cantina...Especially before we see Lando, or characters who are actually IMPORTANT.

Unless you're buying anything else made out of plastic. I recently bought some of those big storage tubs and I decided to get the better quality ones and they were $23 each and I realised that's what a 6" fig goes for now.

Hasbro is really fucking this line up.  I don't believe that they have managed to have me buy only 1 figure from the last 2 waves, when there are literally hundreds of characters I would buy. 

Furthermore, I saw the new Death Star Lego set, and the Black Palpatine this weekend.  I find it quite pathetic that the Lego Emperor is literally ten times better than the 6 inch collector figure.  They could even be bothered to add a fucking lightsaber.  They better get their shit together soon and start making collector friendly decisions, or this line will be a complete waste. 

this series couldn't move any slower and in a couple months hasbro's total focus will be on episode 9.

I know they need to reuse to save money, but slapping a different color on the Clone Trooper is not a way to win me over. Also, re-releasing figures in the slot of a future wave is not only a slot wasted, but it means people like MikeS get left with stuff.

They should have planned it out better.

There's no way that an army builder like that won't get released at retail in standard packaging. Can't believe people are paying so much for it.

Another concern I have for episode 7, are slots in SWB used for Old Man Luke, Old Man Han and Pensioner Leia. I don't dislike the idea, but in no way do I want them at the expense of so many other figs.

Hopefully Hasbro are seeing the sales and realising that army builders are not lasting on pegs. Right now I need some old school love from this line. I want a Tusken Raider, Jawa 2-pack, Royal Guards, Hoth Troopers, more pilots with the possibility of a vehicle such as a Snowspeeder.

6" Tie Fighter is crazy.  It's like furniture.

The fact that they'd give us something as awesome as a Tie-Fighter, but for a movie not out yet over one that we've known and loved for nearly forty years says a lot about how this line is stalling.

We get farmboy Luke, which is nice, but do we really need a fifth Luke when we haven't had so many other great characters?

They've got me contemplating if I even want to keep what I have, much less buy anything else.  The one thing that will kill a line for me quicker than anything else is general unevenness.  That's what's happening to me here.  Some of the figures are great, some of them are very disappointing, and some of them fall somewhere in between.

Plus, the character selection has been somewhat less than inspiring.  Most people I talk with want Episode IV-VI figures, so where are the Sandpeople, Jawas, etc?

Then there's the somewhat random use of soft goods...

I'm not really bitching as much as I'm lamenting what is rapidly becoming a missed opportunity.  There were some great ideas here, and even some great figures, but not what I was really hoping for overall which was a definitive 6" SW line.

The only positive to come of out SDCC......we will get a Darth Reavan!

Never understood army building. 

 I didn't realize they were hard to find, I saw one yesterday on my hunt for Kylo Ren, which was unsuccessful.

I decided too late to jump in on these...

I don't make a habit of it myself, but I get the appeal.  Bad guys tend to be under-represented in toy lines so if you're going to have your hero fight overwhelming odds, you need tons of foot soldiers to wade through.  Now, if you only have so much money and it's between a second foot soldier and a main character you don't have?  That's a no-brainer, you get the unique guy.  But I can say as a kid I had to have just Snake Eyes versus the entirety of my Cobra collection to show how bad ass he was.  He didn't need backup.  :D

No you didn't , the line just came out a week ago and restocks are just hitting this week , these guys will be popping up more and more the closer we get to Christmas . plenty of time to spend your money still :D

I only got Stormtroopers when they were $15 on Amazon. I got 5 which is good enough.

Finn is a very cool figure I thought he'd be a dud but I like him.

I might pick him up eventually, but not until I have a choice.

Target tracker paid off for me and I found Kylo yesterday. Oddly enough the peg was two of him and a Chewie.

One thing that seems to be consist with retailers in my city is once they sell out, they never restock.

Finally found 6" Kylo Ren. Now I need Rey.

And Finn.

Let me ask, why so much interest in characters we know nothing about? Stormtroopers I can understand, but these new characters are we've only seen a bit of and we don't know their personalities or overall places in a brand new chapter. Yes I remember being excited about my Boba Fett figure before he appeared in the movies but he looked damn cool and I knew he fit in with the toys I already had. When the Phantom Menace toys came out I looked at most of the characters and thought WTF is this? I felt no connection without knowing who they were and what they meant to the story. I got the preview Battle Droid because I thought it looked cool, but if I'd known how lame they'd be in the movie I wouldn't have gotten it!

We have reason to believe that the 6" figures so far are the main good/bad guys.  I think most folks are interested in getting the "essentials" whether they care for their personality or not.  A basic Finn is likely to be important to the story.  If it was Deep sea scuba Finn or Lava jet sled Rey it would be more dicey, but so far the 6" stuff hasn't ventured into that territory.  There's also the hope that this round will return us to the perceived glory of the OT.  I picked up the Transformers 4 movie toys with that hope - and had it dashed.  It's certainly a long-term gamble, but in the short term it feeds into the excitement.

That's fine for you, but my Lava Jet Sled action figure collection doesn't appear to be expanding any time soon  :(

I got Kylo, Finn, and Rey because I can guarantee that they're intrical to the story. Phasma possibly will be as well, just haven't found her yet.

My Local WM restocked. Got the lone Rey. Will grab Finn next pay.

He's cool, no doubt. Doesn't do much, but looks nice.

Looks like the love child of R2D2 and a soccer ball.

I think he's neat. Especially considering how he isn't CGI.

I remember when I saw him I thought it was preposterous and nothing like that would work. Now for a hundred and fifty bucks I could own one. I don't know how to robots.

As for why buy characters we don't know?

Well, for me, I passed on the Gurdians of the Galaxy figures having a hunch I should grab them but not totally certain about the movie Then the movie hit and I regretted not getting them since Rocket was selling for 60 bucks. Eventually got them all but it was sketchy for a while.

This is Star Wars. There is almost no way I won't like at least some aspects of these characters. If they are totally ruined in the movies, the expanded stories will add to them at some point. I am getting the main ones. All of wave one. Out of wave two, if I can find a Poe that doesn't look like an inbred drunk, I'll grab it. I'll grab Phasma. I may get that red guard looking character. Fuck that squishy weirdo though.

With the reissues, etc, I'm getting confused as to who is in what wave.

I bet it was the tru exclusive. It has the sandtrooper pauldron. The one in wave 2/3? doesn't have one.

Well that's easy for me to answer being here in Oz. Jabba is on clearance everywhere so nobody got the second series of deluxe figs.

I saw the Hoth figures at a comic shop. But that's all.

I saw a Tauntaun at Gamestop the other day.  Otherwise, no.

Episode 7 - Wave 2 figs are hitting and there's a sumbitch out there that keeps beating me to every Phasma figure.

Mike will be getting wave two, if he doesn't already have 'em.

I saw them over the weekend at multiple Targets.  It's a good way to snag a second Stormtrooper.

Got in some and already moved them out, will be getting in some more at some point.  Right now Phasma is a $70 or so figure, so no surprise she's selling out and it's the one figure you can't get.  I'm sure supply will start catching up to demand soon....

I have the 4" Phasma. I want the 6" one and Hux when he's available.

Now that I have Phasma, I'll have to get about 2 FO Troopers to flank her.  Spotted the FO Snowtroopers at TRU over the weekend and will probably grab one of them pretty soon, as well.  Very nice looking.

Saw the FO Tie Fighter for the 6" Black Series and was very impressed.  Of course, I have no room for it and $170 is more than I'm willing to spend (though I would probably drop $150 for Vader's TIE).  I hope it sells pretty well, so we can get more vehicles for the line. 




Haven't seen a Wampa set at all, and it's been about a month since I remember seeing the Han/Tauntaun set.

I passed on the 2 packs & snagged Luke & Han loose off epay a while back. Only saw Han & tauntaun in stores.

I got guavian soldier at TRU(actually ive seen wave 2 hit everywhere by me)the one that looks like deadpool.

I picked up the FO Snowtrooper Officer that is exclusive to Toys R Us. Just about fell over when I saw as they never show up in Oz.

Hope we see some more original trilogy figures at Toyfair.

I bought boussk,leia- boussh,ig-88,han/tauntaun and luke/wampa off of bigbadtoystore last week.

Good score. I'm still to get the two deluxe sets.

I have picked up the exclusives though. Riot Trooper/Poe 2-pack,  Starkiller Kylo and the Entertainment Earth 4-pack.

That Riot Trooper is a definite want.

the deluxe packs on bbts were only 45 bucks.

I'm a pass on the Christmas ornament head Vader though. A Walgreen's exclusive that turned up at a local store here in Oz. It's novel, but not enough for me to buy one.

I have the 4" one they did a few years back. The glow in the dark skull is cool, but it's basically evoking a scene that lasted three seconds.
