Man the 10th is coming up so fast and i still have so much to do.Going away for 4 days at the end of the week too, that ain't gonna help. Not good. Can you recruit the lil FBs for support? I'm not doing well time-wise. Still sculpting and sanding. Gonna have to make the call soon about whether to just leave it be and enter as is or pull out of the comp and finish it to the standard I'm happy with.

An extension to the Monday after the 10th would be good for me. Miss 10 and I are working at as a team. :-)

Best support they could give me is do my domestic chores for me and let me get on with it. Nah,for me it's time verses paranoia and a lack of confidence after not having done any of this for a few years.Plus my eyesight used to be a lot better before. An extension to the Monday after the 10th would be good for me. Miss 10 and I are working at as a team. :-)
You know i didn't even realise that the 10th was a Thursday until you posted this.Monday the 14th would suit me better too if it's at all possible?

Undercoating finished. Tonight I mask and apply the first colour. Masking makes me nervous - any tips?

Undercoating finished. Tonight I mask and apply the first colour. Masking makes me nervous - any tips? Use a tool or something really small to carefully press the edges of the tape down so there's no gaps where it meets the figure. Use the side edge of a toothpick point if you have nothing else. Paint will find it's way into the tiniest gaps so make the effort to press it down well. Another tip. Imagine a square, then draw a horizontal line through it. Now you have two halves. Imagine the top half is the masking the bottom half is the part you're painting. If you spray at a balanced angle the paint will naturally sit better than if you do it the other way. If the masking was on the bottom and the bit you're painting is on top, then gravity will be against you and there's a much greater chance of the paint bleeding under the masking if there are gaps you missed. Also, before you spray, check and double check that there's nothing exposed that you don't want painted. Sounds silly, but when paint is in mist form it can get in anywhere.

My brain doesn't make pictures from words very well. I don't get it. Andy am dumb.

My brain doesn't make pictures from words very well. I don't get it. Andy am dumb. No, my brain and my explanations are sometimes not in synch. Take a piece of masking tape and stick it horizontally on a wall. Now if you were to spray the area above the tape, there's a chance some paint might bleed down and in under the top of the tape. If you were spraying the area of wall under the tape, there's less chance the paint will go 'up' under the masking tape. Thinking about it with a figure. If you masked off a figure's legs to paint the boots. You'd want the figure standing upright when you paint it. If you held the figure upside down there's a greater chance the paint would get under the masking and on the legs. So to sum up, keep the masking above the area you want to paint if you can. - Also, spray in waves <----across----> the figure. Don't point and blast. - I also don't stand the figure in place and paint. I put on a latex glove and hold the figure and spray it with the other hand. This way you can turn and rotate the figure with ease.
