Esteemed fellow customizers - below is a message from our friend NiteOwl, announcing our brand new custom challenge!

----------

Here at AFB, we have a history of welcoming members who have somewhat questionable origins and can best be described as "other worldly"

Keeping that in mind, we would like to announce "The Thing from Another World" as our new Custom Comp!

The rules are quite simple-

We are implementing a "No Earth policy". We will accept any custom in any shape or size that fits that basic parameter.

So, as long as the character was not born/created or hatched on any of the "Earths” (be it Earth2, Earth Z etc), it's in. It can be any character from comics , film, novels or television.

Details:

1. Customs can be from ANY character that was not born, created or hatched on any Earth from any comic or other medium.

2. Figures can be any size or shape format to deal with the wide net cast for characters. Ideally once again we would LOVE to see a wide variety of characters represented, so do your homework and surprise us with your ingenuity.

3. Characters can be selected from any pop culture material as long as the "No-Earth" policy is followed. We really are adopting a "Serve all, Love all attitude".

4. Any amount of sculpting or "Frankensteining" is allowed and encouraged.

5. Original customs only please, we will only be accepting customs that have not been shown previously on any other site before.

Due Date

Three photos are to be supplied: front, side and rear. A W.I.P. (work in progress) photograph would be cool as well.

Completed Photos with any write-ups or reference pics are to be pm'd to Andy here through AFB No larger than 800x600 please. The due date is July 17 2012. All pictures will be posted in a locked thread for you all to admire. A separate Thread will be started for comments.

We encourage all Members to have a go! This is a challenge for fun and there will be a vote by all members on the best figure, but no prizes are offered - just the prestige of having the most popular figure as voted by your fellow Members.

Please spread the word! We would like to get 10 or more entries.

Thanks,

NiteOwl

---------------

Thoughts, plots and plans go below! Let's get busy!!

Awesome and official looking ..... I have been scouting far and wide for a valid entry and have narrowed it down to three.

I will have a look amongst the fodder tomorrow to see who will make the cut!!

Not just entered in another Comp but if it's an already completed and shown piece then it's not valid either.

Huge thanks to Dozy for the awesome Banner too.

Can it be a character you made up like a member of the teal lantern corps?

Also I guess a made up Captain Britain carps member would be out because they are from alternate earth's?

I've chosen my character and will be shopping for supplies tomorrow.  Thumbs Up

I am aiming to get the easy bits done early as there are elements that will be fiddly and require some trial and error later on.  think.gif

I'm picturing exactly what that means? You didn't turn up to work on casual Friday dressed as Mr Braddock did you?

Good on ya!  Thumbs Up

I've picked my character as well. I need to get started asap too as there's a bit of sculpting to be done. Thankfully no entire head to be done this time......just hair  think.gif

I'm still trying to choose the character! Don't want to go with any of the obvious routes, like one of the Legion of Super-Heroes or Green Lantern Corps; then again, I don't want to go too obscure either (like Sptui, the Sputum from Space)!

I'd vote for that!

Well for a while I just assumed that I was in fact the Captain Britain of earth prime. Let's just say it didn't end well.
