I wish they'd went with something more generic than Miller first, but I do like the blue Bats.

Me too, but it looks interesting. I think this is the future of collecting. Standard 6" figure lines like DCUC and ML go two ways, the first is towards Titan Hero type crap, the second is to cheaper versions of Hot Toys high end stuff like this.

Very interested in getting one of these in hand. I'm feeling a $40-50 price range for these, so I wouldn't jump the gun on ordering more than one at first, but I could potentially grab a couple of these. I love Frank Miller's Batman designs (his DCD Black & White statue is my favorite from the line!), so I'll certainly give one of these a try.
And the face sculpt on these is way nicer than the one on Mattel's Batman Legacy figure.

Yes, I'd probably offload my Mattel one if these are as good as they look.

I've seen rumors of 80.00. Take it with a grain of salt.

$80 isn't unreasonable when you consider what their 12" cousins go for.

Maybe not. But it still leaves me out. Financially and aesthetically. I have no desire to pay that pricepoint for another Batman, nor to perform the upkeep on cloth costumes. I'm old enough to have had the original Megos. Cloth costumes can be a nightmare.

Hell...I'm at the point where I'm ready to collect a new line of cheap, pre-posed plastic figurines.

I'm not. I still want six inch action figures. I just want something different. Fuck Marvel and DC. Something we can get in on at the ground floor. Why can't someone do something with indie comic characters distributed through Diamond? And no. This isn't a Dynamite tirade. I'm speaking in the most general of terms. Dark Horse, Image, IDW, Dynamite, Boom, fucking anyone really. Fuck it, at this point I'd buy Astro City figures from DCC. Just make 'em great.
I'm still pissed/disappointed that LCBH melted down six years ago.

I hear ya, GARD.
Personally, I want a line of generic warriors featuring Ninjas, Vikings, Barbarians, Medieval Warriors, Robin Hood types, Cowboys, Indians, and maybe even 20th century soldiers.
Obviously, I'd love some INDY characters, but I probably have a better chance at nailing Chloe Kardashian, who I actually do want to nail.
And it could never happen, but I would totally love a line of generic Super Heroes and Villains: A line featuring garish costumes, completely new names, and characters that have never before existed! That would be fun!

I've often wondered why this has never happened? Busiek has been with DC for a while and there's a fanbase for the comics. It's odd? Also, Astro City is one of my fave favourite comics at the moment. Busiek always delivers.

I think the answer is probably fairly simple:
A) They don't think there's enough of a fanbase to support merchandise.
B) Kurt (and Brent and Alex) would get a cut. Wiping out any profits. Pretty sad.

Alex is pretty good wth stuff like this. I don't imagine he'd want anything.
